Is trffic going to be bad between NYC and Long Island both ways on Christmas eve?

I am thinking of visitng family on Long Island. I live in jersey . I make the trip very often on the weekends but this coming weekend is a holdiday and i'm afriad of there being too much traffic. After visiting family there very briefly, i'm giogn to the Bronx to spend the night into christmas day. I will be attempting this late in the morning to go to long island from jersey via holland tunnel and manhattan bridge. then later in the afternoon from long island to the bronx via throgs neck. Will there be a ton of traffic?

  1. cool livin' in jersey but, total traffic when in christmas at nyc and or long island and its totally tons of's traffic every city in america i bet it will be trafficed , totally , but , it will really take a long time too get too city to city for christmas , or any holiday you prefer hannakuh or christmas or even another holiday but, there will totally be traffic , so watch out for the traffic there if you go there for christmas ,but also i hope this does help....
  2. traffic thru the bronx to both the whitestone and throggs neck bridge is impossible all the time unless you leave 6-7 am between the roads under construction and all the cars you will sit for hours to get over the bridge especially with the holiday a 20 min drive from lower westchester to pelham bay in the bronx which is about 5-6 miles can take 45 min when it usually would take 15-20 min. and you are not even anywhere near the bridge either go very late at night or very early in the morning
