Which city should we stay at in Big Island, Hawaii during Christmas?

We are planning to visit Big Island, Hawaii over Christmas break. Which city should we fly to? What is the best place to stay?

2. Kailua-Kona is the most sunniest coast in all of Hawaii. I've only stayed in the King Kamehameha hotal for a month
3. Hilo because Kona has been having alot of earthquakes lately. the biggest was a 6something (oct) and the last one was last week which was about a 5. Either way, it'll rain. Especially Hilo tho'.

5. I really liked the Volcano area. There is a winery there that does do wine tasting. There's the Volcano National Park that you can hike and walk through a tunnel in the Voclano. On that hike there is a tourist stop that you can get info on volcanoes and the history of the islands. This are is heavily forested although there is abundance of houses. There are also B&B.
