What happens when American children write to Santa Claus?
In Canada kids write to Santa at Santa Claus North Pole H0H 0H0 And their letters have traditionally been answered by Canada Post employees. Do they have something similar in the States

- Yea, broken dreams.
- Yes they do. Some guy mistaked my name for a girl's apparently and said.. "You have been a good little girl all year." That's when I stopped believing in Santa so many years ago.
- im pretty sure the parents pretend to send them and respond to them them selves
- in AZ we have the same type of thing too, they just do a return address type thing and respond to the letter,
- I don't know if they have it anymore, but when I was little there was a company kids sent the Xmas letters to, and they'd get one from "Santa Claus". It was pretty sweet :-) I used to get letters from Santa and get all happy :-P I think they have it in e-mails now too.
- What Santa doesn't answer those letters?!
- Rumor has it that US postal workers use to answer them when there wasn't as many children and the town were smaller. Now, they just go to the North Pole and Santa doesn't have have enough time to get back to you.
- I live in BC and every year I'd get a Canada Post Employee that lived local and knew my family then incorperate it the letter back...it was actually pretty creepy come to think of it :P
- It's the same in the States
- When I was growing up, we wrote letters but never got a response. We'd just write them, stick them in the mail box addressed "To: Santa" and we figured they'd just send that way. My parents would of course read them and keep it for their Christmas Shopping, but it's nice that you guys have that up in Canada. I never knew there was an actual place to send them here in America. Jeez, the things you learn when it's too late lmao! jk.
- There is actually a North Pole, Alaska. Parents can send their kid's letters there and the postal workers will write a letter from Santa back. It si great because it comes post marked from the North Pole! Also, parents can send letters they have written as Santa to them and they will send it back post marked. Very cool.
- well where i live the kids write their letters to santa. then they go to the post office and they have a special little mail box that says "to santa at the north pole" where the kids drop in their letters. then the post office sends it back home in a different envelope(that way the kids dont see their letter didnt go to santa) and the parents see what their kids want for christmas. we have never had any letters written back by mail men but that sounds like it would be nice :) merry christmas
- There are sites where you can create free letters from Santa for children. The best I found is this one http://bestsantasletter.com/ I like it because you can create the letter and the envelope and if you want even a "good list" certificate and they are all personalized and you can get them in the end as pdf files that are easy and nice to print.
- It depends where you send it. But the important thing is what you do after you send the letter. There are companies that will mail your child a personalized letter from Santa Claus with a postmark from the North Pole! They are very inexpensive! Like $10. My daughter got one and she was out of her mind with joy! Try googling Original Santa Mail. Happy Holidays!
