Im agnostic.. can I still celebrate Christmas?
I know christians celebrate christmas. I live in the UK and during this season, every where you go its all bright colorful lights, tinsels, and christmas trees and carols. And it makes me feel cheerful and since its not often that I am cheerful i would like to be part of it for the december month. I enjoy the weeks where its coming to it where all the old christmas songs and the kids christmas movies are on and everyone has their house decorated. Is it weird that i want to celebrate chrismas when idon'tt follow christianity??

- You do not have to be christian to celebrate christmas as the 25th december was originally a pagan holiday so go and enjoy yourself. PS I am also in the UK
- err no ( as in its not weird) so yes you can everyone has the right to celebrate christmas enjoy yourself happy holidays
- Sure, as you may know the holiday has pagan origins. I'm an atheist but i still like time with the family, giving gifts etc..
- Well considering Christmas was originally a Pagan Holiday to celebrate the Winter Solstice, I would say yes. I'm an atheist. I use Christmas as a time to spend with family and friends. I do not believe in God or Christianity. Christmas holds no religious value for me. I love decorating the tree and putting lights up. You can celebrate what you want, how you want. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
- yes---of course you can. Jesus wants all of us to celebrate his birth together! Even if you don't believe in him, Christmas is a time for celebration...so go celebrate!
- Course you can. You get chocolate & presents :-) Why shouldn't you? :-) Merry christmas :-)
- You don't have to be Christian to celebrate Christmas! I'm not a Christian nor is 1/2 my family but we still get together for Christmas and give gifts and eat good! Remember Christmas was originally a Pagan holiday celebrating the winter solstice & the church turned it into the birth of Jesus because converts wouldn't stop celebrating the Yuletide. Nothing wrong with feeling the holiday good cheer and celebrating, its so easy to celebrate Christmas and not be religious about it at all!
- Let me ask the Baby Jesus and get back to you......
