How do u you determine the position of the North Pole?

The starship enterprise takes u away to planet x. U are to hover ova the North pole of this planet. How do u you determine the position of the North Pole?

  1. Observer it's rotation. Hover over the point that is motionless (there are two of them). Pick the one that everything is spinnining counter-clockwise around when viewed from above that point.
  2. Look at the rotation of the planet. Just draw an imaginary line through the axis of the planet to determine the poles. North and South would be relative only as far as direction is determined on the planet. If the planet has a strong, stable magnetic field, then you could use a compass to determine what you would call North.
  3. well everyone knows about Ursa Major(Great Bear). it orms a figure of a giant water dipper. in the handle are 3 stars and the main part 4. just look at the 2 stars in the main part further from the handle and form a line and pass it straight over the constellation(about 5 times the distance between the 2 stars).
