Im going to Santa Monica in a few weeks Is there anything to do there besides going to the beach?

4. I love the 3rd street promenade!! Shopping and street performers! The pier is at the beach, but it a poplar place!

6. It depends on your age and what you're 'into'. Santa monica is more quiet than los angeles, the night life offers some great lounge scenes, but few 'dance' venues. To me, one of the best attractions to santa monica is it's safety and walkability. If you like spending the day outdoors and exploring, then it's great, its has the obvious promenade and pier, but there is also main street, and you can easily get to abbott Kinney (which is in Venice). As for the beach itself, it's not that great, but everything associated with the beach is fun (i.e bike path, volleyball, surfing, people watching).
