Do you feel the 'Christmas Spirit' this year?
Personally, I don't. Each year Christmas seems to become downsized. When I think of Christmas, I think of snow, decorations outside of peoples houses, decorations in stores, Christmas caroling, people in Santa hats, Christmas songs in stores, Christmas songs on the radio, towns filled with Christmas lights, posters, hangings, whatever, Santa Clause walking around shopping malls, little kids excited over Christmas, TV shows and movies playing constantly on TV, commercials for Christmas, you know what I'm talking about right? It just seems that each year this becomes less and less., especially this year. To me it doesn't even feel like Christmas, this is supposed to be a happy, joyful time but it just feels like any other month or week through out the year. I'm not trying to be a downer but Christmas just isn't what it used to be. Am I crazy or does anyone else feel this?

- Not at all. Christmas is nothing compared to what it use to be. I'm 21 now, and will have to work Christmas eve until 9pm, and be back at work Christmas day at 12:30pm. All my family also lives 2 hours away. Some Christmas, eh?
- i have not felt the christmas spirit for some time now, my kids stay with their dad at christmas time so i dont even bother eith decorations either, so this year im gonna be helping the homeless on the 25th. No, your notcrazy, xmas day IS just another day, what a lot of expense it is too just for that day. i think christmas should be banned as it dont mean what its supposed to mean. not like it used to. dont get me wrong im not miseravble or anything like that but yes i agree with you 100%.
- just a bit
- Christmas.... HUMBUG. *_*
- I'm only 15, but I know what you mean. This is my first year where I have not felt very excited by Christmas or felt very Christmasy. I mean I am looking forward to getting presents I guess, but I'm not excited. It just doesn't feel like Christmas...
- no your just WAKING UP, from the dream CONSUMER DAY none of that relay exists, we are taught the lie from the moment we are born, the rich people want us to continue to [consume] so that we will make them richer Jesus dose exist, but to find the real one ,you have to relate to him in 2007 not in the [retail delusion] that is foisted on us every year ______________________ welcome to REALITY my friend. ******************************** a smart man watches every one else jump of the bridge, and makes life better for all ********************************
- I don't feel it at all..I agree with you 100%..I think alot of it has to do with Christmas being pushed on us soo early too.. They got halloween stuff and Christmas stuff out at the same time.I think that The Christmas stuff shouldnt be put out at stores until closer to Thanksgiving,And it appears to me that not as many people in my neighborhood have decorations out like it used to be either.Me included, usually by now all my lights are up and lit but i have only a few up so far. Also i just lost my mother a month ago so I'm really not feeling it this year but I'm trying for my kids sake.
- I definitely feel the Christmas spirit-- but I think it's what you make of it. I mean, I live in Florida.. my Christmas is almost never cold, and there is certainly no snow or snowmen or anything like that. But we always make sure we have ways to feel the spirit. I have a cd of the Trans Siberian Orchestra that I keep in my car to help lift the spirit. My friend and I bought eggnog and hot chocolate. We're also making Christmas cookies. And not just chocolate chip cookies, the cookies that you have to decorate. I also like to make sure we go to look at Christmas lights. Try and find a neighborhood that always decorates, or a house that's just really phenomenal. Try this website. Maybe you'll have some luck: http://christmas.bronners.com/ We always decorate inside and out to keep the mood. I also like to do little things. I make stockings for friends, and I wrap everything individually. And then on Christmas, my family and I go all out making the kids believe in Santa and the spirit of Christmas! All in all, I think Christmas is what you make of it. Yes, the commercials and the music in the stores can affect your mood, but you shouldn't just let the mood go out the door. Make it the best that you can!
- Yes,I think it will be an unforgetable day for me
- yep, this year there is very little spirit anywhere. no happy joyous faces in the stores very little Christmas music on the radio and waaay toooo many catalogues in my mailbox.
- I feel your pain my friend, all of the way. It's like Christmas doesn't even matter anymore. I was driving around my town the other day, looking for houses with big extravagant displays of Christmas outside their house, but I couldn't find anything more than a few lights! I work at a grocery store, and we haven't even put up Christmas decorations. Also, usually around Christmas, we have charities asking for money, with the big red tin you know? with the bell? Anyways they are usually dressed as Santa Clause but this year their just wearing they're regular clothes! It's like come on man!!! It pisses me off. And I haven't heard ANY Christmas songs on the radio as well. You know what else? Besides that stupid move with Vince Vaughn, there aren't any Christmas movies! Or Christmas parties! I don't know whats happening to society. I guess everyone is getting too caught up in their 'busy' lives to remember the happy, joyful things in life. This is supposed to be a time where everyone comes together, and is proud and makes amends with one another. A time where we give thanks to our friends, family, and those who aren't as fortunate as us. But now people are just too worried about themselves to even care. It really breaks my heart...
