Why do white bashers of multiculturalism overlook the European multiculturalism in US society?

My dad, the Irish cop who loves to bitch and moan about "multiculturalism" being unamerican is in the departments bag piping band. Doesn't that strike you as a bit of a contradiction? Could you imagine the field day that Sean Hannity would have if black cops wanted to form an African drumming group? Haven't you ever seen Italians go nuts for Columbus day, or Germans set up little Kris Kringle Markets for Christmas? In Chicago we have tons of Polish people, and they made Casimir Pulaski day a citywide holiday, with days off for both public and private schools. 3. I see room for multiculturalism in our personal lives but not in our civic lives. When we choose friends and spouses, we naturally seek comfort, gravitating towards those with whom we share similar values. However, when we are fulfilling our civic obligations, we ought to think of ourselves strictly as Americans united for the betterment of our country.

5. European "multiculturalism" will lead to internal strife in the next few years. You see those right wing parties? They're not just sitting there.
6. I'm guessing because the European multiculturalists aren't populating the welfare roles or pushing illegal immigration. Wearing lederhosen & buying beer in Chicago is not really the same as millions of non-English speaking illegal alien children bogging down the school system at $10K per student per year.

8. forced/legislated multiculturalism is the problem. forcing different people to 'get along' only causes resentment as certain groups are given preferential treatment. Americans are tolerant enough to accept each other without the govt getting involved.
