Christians: Did you know Christmas is pagan?
Did you know that Christmas is a pagan holiday, as are most of the other holidays that Americans celebrate. Jeremiah 10:1-4: This is what the LORD says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. 3 For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. 4 They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. "No such festival as Christmas was ever heard of until the THIRD century, and not until the FOURTH century was far advanced did it gain much observance. "Long before the fourth century, and long before the Christian era itself, a festival was celebrated among the HEATHEN, at that precise time of the year, in honor oft the birth of the son of the Babylonian queen of heaven; and it may fairly be presumed that, in order to conciliate the heathen, and to swell the number of the nominal adherents of Christianity, the same festival was adopted by the Roman Church, giving it only the name of Christ. This tendency on the part of Christians to meet Paganism half-way was very early developed." Ibid, pg 93 It is beyond doubt that Christmas was originally a pagan festival. The time of the year and the ceremonies with which it is still celebrated, prove its origin. Isis, the Egyptian title for the "queen of heaven," gave birth to a son at this very time, about the time of the winter solstice. The term "Yule" is the Chaldee (Babylonian) name for "infant" or "little child." This pagan festival not only commemorated the figurative birthday of the sun in the renewal of its course, but it also was celebrated (on December 24) among the Sabeans of Arabia, as the birthday of the "Lord Moon." The Yule log was considered the dead stock of Nimrod (or Tammuz, depending on the specific nation involved), deified as the sun god, but cut down by his enemies; the Christmas tree is Nimrod revived - the slain god come to life again. The Yule occultic colors are red and green. The mistletoe branch symbolized "the man, the branch" and was regarded as a divine branch - a corrupt Babylonian representation of the true Messiah. Both mistletoe and holly were considered fertility plants by the pagans. If you change the letters around in santa it spells satan. The Christians were the only ones that knew it was round. I am a Christian, I posted this question to let the Christians know how Satan is deceiving them.

- Maybe I'd care if you didn't post an over 9000 word essay.
- i really have to read all of that? O.o no way man.
- please don't teez the Christians they are still trying to get a grip on the fact that the planet is not flat . and trying to show them that there entire religion is false only makes it more difficult to tolerate them . after all we build churches for them to hide in . the fact they wont stay there is another story .
- I know that Saturnalia is a pagan holiday, and that Christmas is it's Christian replacement.
- I'm not exactly sure what pagan actually means--I tried looking it up, but I still don't understand it. If you could tell me what it means, then I'll come back and answer the question with a better response lol. And plus, just becasue you say that Christmas is pagan, doesn't mean I'm going to agree with what you posted from the Bible--I can still disagree becasuse I've interpreted this passage in a different way. Everyone has been fighting over what the Bible really says and means, and we will never know until the day Jesus returns.. But I've heard that pagan deals with some parts of Chrisitianity, so if it really is pagan, I'm not surprised.
- The only ceremony Jesus asked us to keep is the Passover 1 Cor 11: 24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
- Whatever--I'm with St. Francis on this one!
- Yes and that is why we don't celebrate it anymore. We just celebrate Jesus everyday!!!!!!!
- Greetings No More Sorrow. The word Pagan comes from the Latin Paganus which was a term used by the Church of Rome to label those of the old nature based religions and means "country dweller".And as well as Saturnalia there was also Yule and Winter Solstice which is where you get all of the evergreen foliage and Yuletide traditons from.As well as the tree itself ( a tardition started by the early Germanic tribes).During that time of year the aspect of our male divine is addressed as the Holly King and we honor him with a wreath of holly over the entrance to our home.In earlier times the Yew was more popular choice of evergreen and is a plant that is associated with death and re-incarnation(because it stays green throughout winter) even today to those of us that follow traditional N.Europian Paths. - Well as a Pagan, I have known this for some time now. Just as Easter is taken from the Germanic Goddess Eostre. Santa/St. Nicholas was based off of the Norse God Odin (they just gave Him back His eye) When Christianity was in it's infancy and trying to spread all over the world it adopted much of Pagan rituals and holidays and added a Christian twist to them in order to convert the Pagans to Christianity. Not to mention that in most of Great Britain when Christianity spread there they also adopted Pagan holy sites and built Christian churches there. Not to mention us Pagans take some offense to the fact that St. Patrick was a mass murderer who slaughtered hundreds of Druids and St. Bridget is a Christian version of the Celtic Goddess Bride. I am sorry but none of what you have stated is new news to most of us. Blessed Be )O(
- Satan is deceiving you too, He created pagan holidays to mask God's "Holy Days". Your pagan holiday is also our Savior's conception day. If you read Luke Ch.1 Verse 5 you will find the course of Abijah or Abia, if you look to Chronicles in the Old Testament you will find a Hebrew order of courses they took out of Babylon with them, they celebrated twice per year, and the difference of weeks were absorbed by the "Holidays". which places the course of Abijah in June14 or December 15 to June 21st or December 22nd and it took 2 days and a Sabbath for Zacharias to get home to Elizabeth to conceive John the Baptist, and we know exactly 6 months later Gabriel visited Miriam(Mary) in the olive orchard, since we know there were Shepherds in the field upon Christ's birth we know he couldn't be conceived June 24th, which leaves December 25th as the sole date Christ was conceived, which his birth was celebrated that year on September 28th The Holiday of the feast of trumpets to herald in the new King, it is also remebered by the Catholics as Michael's Mass every year. Don't let Satan steal your Savior's conception day, when he took flesh. You see what happens when you follow other people's doctrine you get lost in their mistakes, get a Strong's Concordance and discover God for yourself, or as I like to refer to him when I pray Abijah(Heavenly Papa in Hebrew, the only reference in the New Testament of His specific name in Hebrew).
