Santa

Does anyone else have a schmaltzy Christmas Card they like to look at throughout the year?

I received a Christmas card from a business acquaintance which carries no emotional ties to the sender. However, this stupid card has a very basic picture of a two story house with lit windows, a lamp by a bridge over a stream, snow on the ground, etc. Clearly drawn to evoke thoughts of security inside the home. There is so much glitter! I love the colored glitter. Anyhow, I like to look at this card sometimes. It is NOT great art. Anyone else guilty? I am somewhat embarrassed by this attraction to the card.

  1. I like the same cards you do I guess, with the home and snow falling around. It reminds me of childhood, and the warm, secure, happy memories of a simpler time. I do have my favorite cards that I save, and others which I have no problem just storing them away or recycling.
  2. Yeah, a card from the 1970s (sold individually). It shows an upside down sleigh and Santa underneath it and cursing at the reindeer. Really funny. I myself try to stick to nativity scenes and wisemen cards on the cards I send out. For ppl whom I know do not celebrate Christmas, I'll send a winter snowstorm/scenery card.
