Should I send cards even though I'm Christian?
I'd like to send seasonal cards on behalf of my husband's small business. He has quite a few Jewish clients and associates that he does business with. In my background and tradition it is polite to issue a Christmas card, or a holiday card which says Season's Greetings. Should I send Chanukah cards to the Jewish clients? Would that be appreciated? Or should I just send "holiday" cards and leave it at that? Or should I send nothing at all?

- yes, happy chanukah will be nice, or happy holidays is also a nice idea.
- If you know they're Jewish, send Chanukah cards. They would appreciate it very much. This would show that you care. Just make sure they don't have Christmas trees on them a la GWB.
- Chanukkah cards would be very much appreciated. It would show your Jewish customers that you were thinking of them. A holiday card, on the other hand, is rather generic. This is why a Chanukkah card would make a great impression!! Have a Merry Christmas, and thank you for sharing:)
- Its the thought that counts, if it improves relationship with fellow mankind why not. One don't have to celebrate to greet others.
- I think a Happy Holidays card or Season's Greetings is lovely - but I doubt anyone would be actually offended to receive a proper Xmas card.
- I think it would be smart business to have special cards made up for all you customers. Christians will prefer Merry Christmas to Happy Holidays and the atheist will insist on it. So something for everyone.
- happy chanukah would be good. chanukah is a Jewish holiday. Not as much fun as Sukkot,(nothing else is) but still good.
- Yes! Send Chanukah cards. "Holiday" cards imply that you don't really care enough about the person to inquire about their holidays. "Holiday" greetings are as annoying as the inane "have-a-nice-day" greeting. .
- It would be great if you could, without a doubt, be sure of who is Jewish and who is not. Unless your husband's business is a deli, I think that would be hard to know for sure (just look for the -stien names? Probably not a good idea!) Of course, you may very well know your clientele that well. If you can, sending separate cards based on ethnicity would be great. When in doubt, Season's Greetings are always good. Now let me ask you this... any Muslims in your clientele? Off-brand Orthodox? Hindus? Buddhists? Are you sure? Season's Greetings are never a bad idea. The Season is universal, even if the Mas is not. What stinks, to me, is that some people WOULD get offended at getting happy wishes for a midwinter holiday that is not THEIR mid-winter holiday. Good luck. The decent folks will appreciate your thoughts at this time no matter what ideology they follow.
- I think seasons greetings cards are good for everyone. Even I'm a Muslim I would never be offended by receiving a card. It's the thought that counts, not what the card says or how far you've gone(money wise or decoration wise). And you have your thoughts in all the right places. Cheers and Happy Holidays to you!
