Do you think that business are going to get hit hard this year with Christmas?

Meaning not as much purchasing? Credit cards etc? Do think that business are going to loose a lot of money? I am talking about the recession that we are in.

  1. Some are. Wal Mart and Family Dollar are the only retailers who are going to have a good Xmas.
  2. sadly, yes i do.
  3. Yes, analysts are expecting a 25% downturn in gross revenue this holiday season, when, compared to last year. Ouch.
  4. They sure are. Except for Neiman, we know they at least got $150,000. Recently.
  5. I would have said yes when the gas prices were over $4 a gallon. Now that they are dropping it is looking better. Another economic stimulus will help too. Put the check in the mail. lol.
  6. I really don't think it's going to be that crazy, people are sill Leary about spending money they don't have!
  7. they will be hurt, but not as bad as we think. Strange thing in America, people will give up food and other things over Christmas to buy presents. This Christmas many will be hurting, But those who are not, will go over board fearing they many never get another chance to have a good Christmas. The wise will tread lightly with their money.
  8. Y E S , and you can expect to see some businesses close their doors during the first quarter of 2009.
  9. Wal-Mart did a little test this last Saturday. I showed up to watch and see how things went. There were long lines for the items they had on sale so I don't see it as a problem. Were the items cheap? Not really. There were a couple of cheap items, but it was the big ticket items that people went after. So, I think it will be fine, though it might only be half of what it was last year. I do predict that brick and mortar stores will continue to see their sales go down, while internet sources will continue to see gains.
  10. Yes, unfortunately, because people are wary of spending money due to the bad economic climate. Some people just don't have any money to spend and their credit cards are maxed out.
  11. I think it will be a very slow season, but not quite as dreadful as some are predicting.
  12. Yep, it's going to happen. The sad part is that during the campaign for president all we heard was that if the democrats had control, we would see utopia. It ain't gonna happen, folks. We're in for double digit jobless numbers, maybe double digit inflation, a stagnant economy, high food prices, and lots of vacant homes. Not to mention, possible waiting in line for gasoline. Can you say " hello Jimmy Carter years"?
