Business Christmas E-mails ok?

I work for a mid-sized Engineering and Surveying firm. We mail out company Christmas cards. Is there anything wrong with sending personalized Christmas e-mails to my own specific clients? is it tacky? I have gotten a few responses already -- all positive unless you count the auto responses "already on vacation" . What do you think?
