Santa

What do you want for your children for the holidays?

This is a question I tend to ask all parents I know each year to see what they want for their children. Mine is always the same each year, so I figured I would share my holiday wish for my kids and hope to see what other parents are wanting for their children. Here is a little thing I wrote - My Letter To Santa. "What do I want to get my children for Christmas?" I was asked one day and my first thought was this toy or that, new clothes and what have you. Then as the season wore on, seeing the crowds in the malls, the shows on TV, the collections for charity that only seem to pop up at this time of the year I began to rework my Christmas list and decided to write a list to Santa myself. But how would one do that at my age? It had been so long since I had written Kris Kringle. Sneaking into my daughters room late at night I took a piece of blank paper and a few crayons. I thought to myself if I was going to do this I was going to do it right. Resting myself down on the couch and using The Cat And The Hat as a make shift desk I began to write and this is what I asked. Dear Santa, I know you get hundreds of thousands of requests each year from girls and boys, of which I am neither. I am a mother of 3 beautiful children but I was hoping you could grant my Christmas wish for them. I am not asking for toys, the latest video craze or clothes. They either grow tired of them, another craze comes along or the item breaks after being tossed into the toy chest one to many times. I do not know where you will find these requests but if anyone can pull this off you can. Don’t worry about doing it by yourself either, I am sending a carbon copy of this to Jesus since he is the reason for the season. I am hoping between the two of you my request will be granted. I wish for my children to grow up happy, to take joy in the small things in life. To remember that all people are the same in your eyes and in the Lords. I wish for them to grow up healthy and if that is not possible for them to be strong through any illness that comes their way. I wish for them to remember they are loved by myself and their father, the rest of their family and even those that passed away before they were born. I wish for them to remember why we celebrate Christmas - not for the gifts but the birthday. That Christmas is not our birthday but another’s, so we are to give gifts and not think of ourselves. I wish for my children to enjoy life, to know no matter how hard things may be how lucky we are to have each other. That no matter who we have lost in our lives they are not truly gone but are watching over us. To know each Christmas morning as we open our gifts that they are sitting right their with us watching and smiling. I wish for my children to be color blind, to never look at someone’s skin and judge them. I wish for my children to help others less fortunate than they are. To drop those coins in the bucket to help another child to have a happy holiday but also to drop them all year round to help them have a happy life. To also help those with what seems like more than we have, to remember that money does not bring happiness but those around us do. I know these may seem like odd requests Santa but this is what I want for Christmas. Just make this a reoccurring wish for each year that passes. I know it may be difficult to fill such an order, so I will do what I can here on earth, just wanting some extra help from you and Jesus. Thank you Santa for your help and don’t push yourself to hard. Give Jesus a hug and pops too. Love, Jenn~ Addressed To Santa Clause North Pole Carbon Copy To Jesus Heaven
