Santa Claus is facing eviction (now that Russia claims the north pole.) Who first gave Santa that address?

I assume Canada will renew his lease.

1. Santa Claus was around before Canada was. Sorry.
2. Coca-cola leased him the land, bought him the suit, and paid for his reindeer.
3. Santa at the North Pole started in the 1860's. Thomas Nast, who was an illustrator for harper's Magazine, did a series of Christmas issues, and originated the idea of Santa's workshop at the North Pole, and the jolly, plump Santa.

I'm sure the Canadian would, but the American's have North Pole Alaska already (we can be big supporters of using word association to drive home a point).
