What happens to US mail that is addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole?

1. good question. they probably put it ina bin or trashcan sumwhere..
2. I think there are people employed by the USPS (not sure if they're volunteers) that answer it. I saw this on TV once.
3. I don't know for sure but it might go to either those Santa claus's in the malls (to help decorate). Mabye there's a musum that take's some dose expits or show them like 50 years later. And mabye they go to the resreach lab's at the north pole. Or they get throw out . Yea proply
4. Several years ago, the Post Office included a basket just for the letters that were addressed to Santa Claus. I know of a worker who was responsible for actually opening the mail and reading the letters. A team of these people would try to connect the writer with some agency or group who would be able to provide gifts, etc. for them. It's a great way to show love to the children.

All letters that are addressed to Santa are sorted out and here they are taken and put in a store like spot where the general public is invited to come and read them and to possibly grant the wish. we get hundreds of people that are willing to help someone that is less fortunate than themselves. Im sure they do the same thing all over the country. Some of the letters just want a reply and a volunter will reply to it also.

7. Many of them are picked up by volunteers who answer the children's and parents' letters. These "elves" especially look for letters from poor families who have little material comfort for Christmas. 8. 1-Some volunteers may answer to it. OR 2- They give it to the parents when the parent's when the young kids aren't around so the parents know what to get there kids. :]

12. I live in North Pole, Alaska. Yes, there really is city called "North Pole", it is 4 square miles in size and has it's own police & fire department, mayor, city council, EVERYTHING! Many local post offices take it and have a group of volunteers answer them, but many wind up way up here in the city of North Pole and one of our local volunteers respond. We also have the Santa Claus House where they get thousands upon thousands of letters to Santa Claus every year and hundreds of volunteers reply to them and send them back with the North Pole postmark on them. Another thing you can do is go to: http://www.santaclausehouse.com... the home page tells you exactly how to get a letter (with or without a picture) from Santa and that they have sent over 1 million letters to children all over the world. You can also buy other items sold from the store. It's great. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

15. They do not go anywhere. When you write a Christmas List and your parents say they will mail it to Santa, they just read it and buy some of the things on your list and say it is from Santa.
