Favorite thing during Christmas season?

I love the Christmas Nativity plays. I have so many wonderful memories of making costumes, gluing hundreds of chicken feathers to little angel wings, singing carols with the kids hundreds of times to practice, etc. I just love the Nativity plays and helping the children with them. I love decorating. I love the sewing and crafting of ornaments. I love cutting evergreens and making swags and wreaths. I love wrapping presents and making pretty bows and ingenious gift tags. I love visiting the nursing home and spending time with the residents. I especially love taking the kids to carol there. I do not really love baking, but some people do. Shopping is ok, but not that exciting. What is everyone else's favorite holiday activity?

  1. i love absolutley everything and anything christmas. i love watching all the movies, listening to the holiday music played on our local radio station, cooking, putting up the tree, going to christmas partys....everything! my friends and i always get together and make gingerbread houses this is always a great time. but my favorite thing about christmas is being able to see my whole family, now that all my family members are moving and heading off to college i rarely ever get to see my brothers and my sister. so being able to visit with them and knowing that they are home for a couple weeks is one of the greatests feelings
  2. Oh man, I love to do so much. I like to say I love having no school during the Christmas holidays. Because I need a break, especially now I've got homework piling up each day it seems like. I love the Christmas carols, and our high school choir performs a little Christmas concert every year. I am forced to sing with the Mixed Chorus this Wednesday, next year I hope to god I'll be able to do it with the A Capella or Madrigal choir. I love buying and shopping for people. It's so much fun for me, seeing as I love shopping in general so shopping for others is an added bonus. I do to love wrapping gifts and making them look so nice and just too pretty to even unwrap. Even when they do open it's just something nice. I'm a bit..crafty. I love how everyone seems to be friendly this time of year. Of course there's the bad eggs but the people I've frequented seeing at banks and grocery stores were quite nice, they all seemed to have a happy face which is very nice this time of year. I love putting up the decoartions and making the house look pretty. I have this nice nativity set in my room sitting on this shelf area, it looks marvelous. I also love spending time with my relatives like my uncles and aunts, and grandparents, but most of all my mommy. I love her more than anything in the world and me and her hanging out especially round this season is an absolute blast.
  3. I love doing all kinds of things... Baking, cooking, decorating, shopping, giving gifts, making crafts, christmas nativity plays, parties...ect
  4. The only time of the year where everyone seems to be on the same page. I love getting a warm "Merry Christmas" from anyone. I love gingerbread men and fruit cakes. I love snow, and throwing snowballs at unsuspecting people. I love the lights and I'm sure the power company does too. I love the anticipation, even though I know I'm not getting anything at all given to me. I love the hope that somehow this time of the year brings God down to our level, instead of the rest of the year where it feels impossible to approach him. I love seeing other people happy, even though I may never be. It's a holiday for the children and families, so I wish everyone who has them to make this year extra special, because for some, it's just another day. But what a day...
  5. I love Christmas except for the cold: Ice skating, shopping, making and decorating cookies (esp. licking the frosting... jk lol), wrapping presents, decorating the house, watching movies, being it the nativaty plays at church (my fav is The Best Christmas Pagent Ever), caroling, going to see Candy Cane Lane (christmas lights) and curling up on the couch with a blankie and the Christmas Carol (my fav Christmas book EVER..... bah humbug!!! lol)
