I need a free christmas story script with carols for our church service to be read to children?

The kids will be in our main service and it will be a section for them. we want to present the true story and incorporate some traditional carols? Any ideas at this point would be great! Thanks in advance!

  1. look for a script called 'Event Horizon' it is a touching story about jesus and his disciples
  2. do the obvious, the birth of jesus, what greater christmas story could there ever be, incorporate oh little town of bethlehem, silent night, what child is this, etc, etc, it is what i grew up performing every christmas eve in sunday school group at our church, every child gets a part, the main characters and the rest are angels and shepherds, and the best reader in the group reads the story from the bible........have a great christmas
  3. When I was younger, the parish I belonged to would just read the Christmas story from a children's bible. Some of us would act out the story (no lines to memorize-we had a narrator!), and the children's choir would fill in with songs. So, when they talked about the three Magi traveling to Jerusalem, we sang "We three Kings". When the Magi made it to the stable, we sang "What Child is This?" When the angel of the Lord surprised the shepherds, we sang "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing!", etc. It was great, and with no memorization, none of us got "cold feet" about performing in front of a crowd.
  4. We did a quick play with the Ryme Bible Storybook (you can get it at any Christian book stores usually) We took the Christmas story beginning on page 222 through page 261,and had a person reading from the book the story and the children acted it out as it was being read. We had places throughout the story where we sang songs such as "Away In A Manger", "Silent Night", "Angels We Have Heard on High", "We Three Kings", and "Go Tell It On A Mountain". This would work well for reading to them also. It really holds their attention, and very cute also. You may check around to see if anyone in your church family has this book, if not it is about $15-20 dollars. You might check on e-bay or amazon also. Hope this helps! :)
