What are your favourite Christmas carols?
I am organising a youth Christmas service at church, and I need to do some Christmas carols, recognisable ones... any ideas??
Public Comments
- Silent night...............but the original german version, gives me such a thrill to hear
- Little donkey .... Its really cute
- Merry F-cking Christmas sung by Mr. Garrison on South Park.
- "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" is one of my favorites. All 3 verses really get into the meaning of the holiday.
- I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones we used to know. When the tree tops glisten and children listen and sleigh bells ringing in the snow...
- that should be relatively easy.
- Carol King Carol Bayer Sayer Carol Thatcher Carol Cox Carol The Builder
- "O Holy Night" and "O Tannenbaum" are my favorites , but I would also include a couple of upbeat ones, like Sleigh Ride or Jingle Bells.
- Oh Holy Night Away in the Manger Silent Night Lo' How a Rose Er Blooming We Three Kings of Orient Are Children Go Where I Send Thee Joy to the World Angels we have heard on high The First Noel Adeste Fidelis Ave Maria
- Good lively ones like these should do the trick Hark the herald angels sing The holly and the ivy Good king wenceslas (sp?) It came upon a midnight clear If you can include Christmas songs as well as carols try these We wish you a Merry Christmas Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Santa Claus is coming to town Have fun!
- in the bleak midwinter. good luck with the service.
- It came upon the midnight clear Silent Night Hark the Herald angels sing O Come all Ye Faithful
- god rest ye merry gentleman angels we have heard on high away in a manager
- the little drummer boy
- I don't like most of them, since they've been done to saturation. Try finding some older carols (as in mideval), or translations of French or Spanish carols. My favourite is The Carol of the Bells but I realise you need a trained choir to pull that one together...but you did ask...
- i love away in a manger and i love o holy night
- here we go up to Bethlehem my 4yr old son is singing it for his play and he sounds sooo cute
- My Top Five: 1.)Silent Night 2.)We Wish You A Merry Christmas 3.)Little Donkey 4.)On The First Day of Christmas 5.) Away In A Manger See what you think of them!
