Should I include my business card in the envelopes along with the Restaurant Gift Cards?
I am a small business owner who distributes products and my best customer which represents about 50% of my total business asked me for some sort of contribution for their Christmas Party. I plan on getting about 4 gift cards each worth $50 from a decent restaurant. They will randomly give these out to employees at their companies Christmas Party. I plan on giving each of the 4 gift cards in a 4 plain white envelopes. Should I include my business card in each envelope as well along with the gift card? Should I also give a seperate gift to some of the managers who treat me good and continue to trust me and buy lots of products from me? They are really good people. Any help would be appreciated.

- Putting your business card in would be fine, except that it can easily be thrown away or removed by the gift-givers. You might want to purchase the gift cards and write in the blanks provided: To: ABC Company From: XYZ Company This is what vendors did at my husband's large Christmas Party this past Saturday. That way, you know for sure that your company name gets the credit for the gift!
- I think you can write your name & company name right on the gift certificate. Usually these have a place to fill in "to" and "from" as well as the dollar amount. You won't be able to write in who gets the thing, but you certainly should write in who's giving it. Not only the lucky employee will be grateful to you, but also the restaurant will see who bought it and think grateful thoughts. Send individual, hand-signed Christmas cards to the managers you personally appreciate, and send a basket of cookies etc to be shared by the whole office.
- Yes I think so. You have every right to "advertise" who you are seeing as you are the one giving the contribution. I think it would be silly not to. As for the separate gifts, I think that's a good idea, but keep in mind that if you do it this time, you'll be expected to do the same thing every year. If it's worth it, then yes go for it. It's a great way to maintain a good relationsihp with your best customer.
- Put the business cards in with the gift cards and write on the envelope or use a sticky to tell that the gift card is worth $50.00 so it will be easier for the companies to identify them. Yes, you can also include a "just for you" gift to the managers who are loyal to you. I worked at a not-for-profit organization and we had "Christmas" raffles, using donated items as the prize. The prize winner will use your business card or pass it on to someone needing your type of service. The just for you gifts for the managers will encourage them to pass "word of mouth" sales your way. (All of this is a write off for you as advertising.) Hope this helps. Nothing wrong with what you want to do!
