Christmas Party... (business question..)?

ok. i have been seeing this wonderful guy. for about.. 5 months. i met him through work. he doesnt work in the company i work for.. he works for a company that buys from my company. anywho his company is BIG, ours small. so his company is having a christmas party. We both dont want the people from his job knowing that we are SERIOUSLY dating, because of politics and etc. , but we are still going to gether as a date. ok. so my question is this.. or these.. 1. he wants me to look HOT and i want to look hot too. as a matter of fact i want to be the hottest girl there (it might be hard.. ) SO WHAT SHOULD I WEAR.. TO LOOK GREAT..? BUT NOT TOO SLEAZY CUZ ITS HIS COWORKERS I DONT WANT THEM GETTING A WOODY... 2. THE PEOPLE THERE KNOW THAT I AM FROM THIS COMPANY AND I THINK IT WOULD BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO HELP SELL MORE OF OUR PRODUCT TO THEM. BUT WOULD THE CHRISTMAS PARTY BE A BAD TIME TO GIVE OUT BUSINESS CARDS ETC...? OR SHOULD I KEEP IT STRICTLY PLEASURE..?

  1. Instead of dressing to look hot, I suggest you dress to look classy and beautiful. This is after all a business party and you'll look more respectable as a representative of the company you work for. Note: Some older folks equate 'hot' with trashy. I learned this from experience. Bring some business cards just in case someone asks you for one and have fun.
  2. It's Christmas, so hot can = tight instead of revealing. I generally think women that show cleavage or too much leg within a business setting, even outside of work, are inappropriately dressed. The equivalent of a guy wearing a dress shirt with the collar open to the third button and a gold chain. I would skip the business cards. The last thing I want to deal with at a company Christmas party is a vendor trying to make a sale. Take them with you though - it's appropriate to give one to someone that asks first. Have fun!
