What would you do to visit Lapland at Christmas? We want to go on a holiday for a family of four from UK to Norway or Finland at or near Christmas. We just want a quiet winter holiday and to get to see Father Christmas. Just a simple flight plus hotel/apartment or similar package would be fine.... Thank you!

How gay-friendly is Finland? My question is more specifically aimed at Turku, Lapland, and Helsinki. I've heard Helsinki is pretty gay-friendly, and that the more rural you get, the less tolerant people are. However, I've also heard that Finland is generally a pretty accepting country. Could someone who's been to or is from any of these places help me out? I'm just wondering if like I would have to be secretive about it or if no one would care. Thanks! p.s. I'm applying to be an exchange student there. Also, do you know how many people speak english there? Like fluently? Thank you!

Eastern and Northern European have significant Asian genetic markers. Hence, it can be seen that hair color? and brain size have little to do with each other, yes? [edit] Central and East Asian admixture East Asian mtDNA (haplogroups A, B, C, D, M, N9a and Z) is restricted mainly to Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and is found at generally low frequencies: Lapland (8.5%), Bulgaria/Turkey (6.9%), European Russia (4.2%), Spain/Portugal (2.3%), Czech Republic (1.8%), Western Slavs (1.6%), Eastern Slavs (1.3% to 5.2%), Southern Slavs (1.2%), Scandinavia (0.93%), France/Italy (0.81%), Iceland (0.64%), Germany (0.57%), Finland/Estonia (0.5%), England/Wales (0.23%) and Scotland (0.18%).[94] Central Asian Y-DNA is much more common. Tat-C (haplogroup N1c) is a Y-chromosome lineage that originated in Siberia[95] and is thought to have spread to Northeastern Europe with male Uralic hunter-gatherer migrations occurring over the last 4000 years.[96] Today it's found in Northern and Northeastern Europe at varying frequencies: Finland (55%), Lithuania (47%), Lapland (42%), Estonia (37%), European Russia (14%), Ukraine (11%), Sweden (8%), Norway (6%), Poland (4%), Germany (3%), Slovakia (3%), Denmark (2%) and Belarus (2%).[97][98] Though the above rather high frequencies are likely inflated due to genetic drift, which can affect Y-chromosomes,[99] a small but significant Central/East Asian genetic influence in Russians and Finns has been confirmed using population structure analysis.[100] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_history_of_Europe Mischa, the truth is you are a distant cousin of my lab rat. It's true.
About 55% of Finns and 14% of European Russians have Asian genes? Flatter but broader so air flow and volume remain constant, due to the genetic constancy of volume. 2nd times: Europe experienced numerous conquests by Asians: Huns, Mongols, Tartars, Turks etcs. But I think most of the genetic contribution was due to migration, not conquest.
Is it normal to have a fascination with insanity? Although I don't go around shouting things to scare people and act like I've overdosed on drugs or prescriptions, but I have Drama class in High school (laugh it off first then continue reading) and I'm supposed to do a solo speech on whatever topic as long as it's not sexual, contains vulgar words, and the like. I did a speech pretending to be an insane person comparing World War 2 to art and claiming it's a Master piece. ("Oh how orgasmic it is when I see Germans raped by the Soviets, the red paint of the holocaust, the sea of Normandy turn to red, how magnificent! I enjoy the sight of Americans screaming in agony let alone to die a miserable death on the battle field, I enjoy seeing London set aflame! The piles of dead bodies from the Winter war, Continuation War and Lapland war is just too much an art lover like me can handle, Finland is truly a country of artists with a red paintbrush, Simo Hayha being the best of them all." etc etc etc)
OK im english my girlfriend is finnish, we are sitting in a hotel in ottawa right now, we are in canada becaus? we quit our jobs in uk to go live in patagonia, wanted to be miles from any built up area and work in tourism, renting out cottages on our land etc. argentina was always 2nd or 3rd choice to canada but, canada being as tough as it is to get in we gave arg a shot. And it didnt work out end up spending a month in ontario recovering from argentina flying back to finland in 6 days we could try and find the dream there in lapland maybe, but our heart is really in somewhere like alberta, Bc or new foundland, but if we start down that road we will be lucky to be buying our own furniture in maybe 3 years and im 30 and sick of having no roots. bit of a messy question just thought it would be better than flipping a coin let me know what you think
