How far in advance should I book a holiday to Lapland? I want to go to lapland in December 2012, when my youngest child will be 3 (he'd be too young to go this year at 2) I just wondered if anyone had any advice on whether I would be better off buying the hol well in advance and paying it off over the year or so, or would I be better off saving up for the year or so, and then buying a last minute deal about a week before I want to go? I don't know about flights prices, but I know with package holidays you can get 'last minute' deals where the price gets a little cheaper. I remember seeing some of them a year or 2 ago on one of those holiday channels which is what made me want to go so I think they'd still do them..

Family Holiday Idea's? Me, my husband and our 4 children love going on holidays. We haven't really got a budget as he is a surgeon and im a teacher. We have 2 boys who are 13 and 9 and 2 girls who are 12 and 6. Last year we went to America for 2 weeks to swim with dolphins but this year we want to go on holiday at christmas. In 2005 i went in october for Halloween. the weather was cold but hot enough to wear a jumper. i went there by train. In 2006, i went there for Christmas. The weather was cold but i had great fun. I went there by aeroplane and bus. In october this year i went to Turkey. The weather was very warm and i swam in the sea and in the pools. I also went in the waterpark. In the future, i would like to visit New Zealand, Canada and Lapland. At the moment, me and my family have been to France twice and Turkey once. Is a holiday without the kids wrong? My husband and I have been together for 10 years and we have booked to go away for 1 week without our kids we are taking them to lapland at christmas for a week and we have never been away without them before they will be 9,6,6 staying at home with Nana ang Grandpa they will also be at school during the day. How old were your kids when you took them on holiday for the first time? My husband and I have had a stressful 6 months and would love to take our daughter on a holiday around Christmas when she'll be 21 months old. Quite a few people have said don't bother until she's about 4 because none of us will get anything out of if so it'll be a waste of money. I'm looking for your thoughts on this. I'd love to take her to Disneyland or somewhere like that, or Lapland, but a few places we've looked at say they're unsuitable for kids under 4. Am i the only person who loves the cold? Okay it seems like im the ONLY person in the entire planet, who loves the snow, cold,and winter. Taking my sisters friend to Lapland, BUT should we after her...? Mum & dad we're dictating how much they should pay towards the 'once in a lifetime trip' to lapland. Also. whenever she stays over, her mum beeps the car, doesn't even have the decentsy to come to the door and say thanks!! :| plus my sister & her friend, hardly hang round with each other.
