What can I do with old Christmas cards? I work at a large corporation and consequently my boss has received a large volume of Business Christmas cards. They are such a waste! We have a recycling effort at work but I wondered whether there were any particular groups that collect old Xmas cards for charity?
Is it okay not to do Christmas cards anymore? I have always done Christmas cards but I'm really over them and I hate doing them. The ones I received all end up in the trash after Christmas anyway....... I run a pet sitting business and Christmas is the most INSANE time of the year for us, I don't want to be bothered with cards as well. And I don't want to do them in the weeks prior to Xmas, I just want to phase out doing them altogether - I always ring family and friends for Christmas if I don't see them anyway. So would it be considered rude not to post out cards this year?
How to properly address a christmas card? How would I properly business christmas cards that are going to a specific person at a company..... like i want to send a card to John Doe @ ABC Company....what would the address format be? and when sending business christmas cards would I address him as Mr. John Doe or just John Doe?
Businesses sending Christmas cards? Do you find it - a) annoying, or b) friendly - when a business that has worked with you in the past sends you a Christmas card, not advertising anything but just greeting you and simultaneously reminding you that they exist? Thanks! Thanks for all the prompt answers! Just to clarify, I meant a business that had serviced you in the past, not one that had employed you.
Need help with christmas card advertising for my painting business.? I own a residential/commercial painting business. I would like to have post cards made up for christmas and send them out to every customer I have ever had. I would like to do this as a marketing/advertising thing to gain business though referrals or repaints of same customers in the future. So what should the post cards say? Examples would be great. Thanks

How do you sign your Christmas Cards? Are you even sending Christmas Cards? For family it is pretty easy how you should sign them, but for people you have in social groups - do you sign your first and last name and put the group under it. These are ladies I see once a month for dinner, I am a rather new member to the group. I don't want to send a card and have them look at it and wonder who the h**l sent me this and why. On another note: Do you think fewer and fewer people are sending Christmas cards? We don't seem to get as many in our business as we did 5-10 years ago.
What paper is best for printing Christmas cards on? I got an idea to take my own photos for my Christmas cards, and I want to know what paper i can buy for my home printer that will be best for this. I want a finish on it like you would on proper cards. If you could link me to where i can but it online, preferably from a site of a business known in the UK. If not, if you could tell me the name of the type of paper that will be best. Thanks =)

Questionable Small Business Owner's Christmas Card to Female CFO? After working at a business for over 13 years at the company a newly promoted (& married for 25 years, good looking) female CFO (age 49) of a 10 million in sales business receives a Christmas card from her boss the Company President / Owner (age 60 who lost over 100 lbs from surgery some time ago) He is also married for years but to an alcoholic. Other Background; in the past 4 months the Female CFO has had a large number of weekly closed door long meeting in the owners office and meetings at an off site condo (lunch and after work hours) that is also owned by the business owner. They leave and return in separate vehicles a minute or two apart but employees have seen their two vehicles together off site with no other cars anywhere near them. Unbeknown to them its very noticeable at work. A month and a half after her promotion which was in the works for 2 months before becoming effective 10/1, the female CFO told her husband she wants a divorce. Having seen his Christmas card to her I made a copy unknown to them. the front of the card reads "You're in My Heart at Christmas" The inside is printed "You're someone who's genuinely caring and giving, someone who listens eith an understanding heart. And especially at Christmas, I'm so thankful that I have someone like you in my life. Merry Christmas" The owner double underlined thankful and merry Christmas and added this working with signature. "I Love You & Thank You For Loving Me. & Bright Future" Is it possible they are just friends who developed a a close business relationship over the past 5 months? Or is an affair going on as many suspect? The company is involved in a sexual harassment law suite at present (different employees involved). With all the large amount of layoffs we have had no one wants to step up and say anything. Should a secret copy be sent to the parties, their spouses or ?? What to do say or ???
Are there any companies selling eco friendly business greeting cards? The company I work for wastes reams of card each year at Christmas and the Directors receive similar amounts from their clients. Its about time that they start to look for an environmental alternative. Any suggestions would be most welcome. This is something I am sure millions of others are passionate about.
What is the best way to mail christmas business postcards to 250-500 clients? we have a few people in the office who would like to mail out christmas postcards in town to past and present client. Each agent wants to mail out 250 cards, which will be around 1000 postcards once a year. If we purchase stamps through the post office it will cost around $.41 a stamp for a grand total of $410.00. Is there another way to get a discount rate for stamps buying in a bulk of 1000? Thank you for your help
Christmas cards?? When should I send out christmas cards for our business? Is it to early now?
How do you address a xmas card when you don't know wifes name? I am doing business christmas cards. I realized how stupid the question was after the fact. That being said, a couple of you are a bit snarky. I also wonder about Hadassah point. If I do know the wifes name would it be better to go with a Mr. & Mrs. John & Mary Smith?
Can U help me come up with a clever caption for my Christmas Cards? We're recently relocated out of state from the entire family. Husband takes the train into DC everyday. I had the great idea to take a photo of the kids dressed in business suits underneath the train station sign which says the name of our city. One kid is looking at her watch, one is looking at the local newspaper and one is looking at his watch, as if waiting for the train. It is really cute. I'd like to use it as the front of our Christmas cards, but don't have a clever line to put with it. Can you help me come up with something?!
how many Christmas cards have you had from people of other religions/ethnicities? I have seen a load of questions from 'christians' on here bleating about 'how they arent allowed to say merry christmas', 'political correctness', 'war on christmas/christians' etc, etc... blah, blah, blah just got home to find a christmas card from a jewish guy (says 'Merry Christmas' and has a picture of a robin) a christmas card from a local (sikh) business (says Happy Christmas, picture of a victorian winter scene) plus, at work, I got a card from a muslim (Merry Christmas, Jokey picture of santa & snowman)

Is it legal for my employer to open mail sent to me in care of the business, such as thank you cards, etc. ? This has been an ongoing debate here. Though it does state in our employee manual that the Employer has the "right" to open our mail, I believe it's intentions were to cover personal mail we may have sent to us at work (which no one here does, that I'm aware of). We will get thank you cards, Christmas and other holiday cards opened up, sometimes a week or more AFTER the postmark. They open our 1099's from one source of our income, and other sensitive material we may receive from some of our suppliers. I'm just curious - is this a common occurance in business, or something more isolated. Regardless, I would like to know if this is legal or not - whether they state in our manual it is their "right" to do so. If it isn't legal, what would be the best way to handle the situation?
Any one help me to get christmas related photographs? Will any major stores or retailers go out of business if Christmas pre-sales don't accumulate? Early this year there was word about a Wal*Mart and Amazon war over prices -- will the major retailers battle over the consumer sales to such an extent that different corporations will show losses that lead to national bankruptcy? Will Americans put shopping on hold and presume that with gift cards and slashed prices they can get the ultimate deals on the Saturday (day After Christmas) the 26th of December? Thanks for posting -- 10 points for best analysis and interpretation
Did you know celebrating christmas is a pathway to the hellfire? In the world today many Muslims, especially those residing in Western countries are exposed to the evil celebration, Christmas. Many take part in the festive celebrations by exchanging cards, gifts, decorating homes, having Christmas turkey dinners & congratulating one another for the coming of season etc. For many the practice is viewed as harmless amusement & pleasure for young & old. The build up to Christmas is aggressively promoted; businesses deploy every possible tactic to captivate the masses in every spectrum of society, in shopping centres, high streets, television, radio, magazine & newspapers. Even though Christmas has been taken hostage by Capitalist to increase business revenues, many still practice this corrupt celebration as a remembrance of the birth of Jesus, who is considered as ‘the incarnation of God’ second third of the trinity, hence it is a celebration of the birth of divinity. Though the date 25th December is taken by Christians as the birth of Jesus, the origins of this date can be linked to the birthday of the Hindu god Khrishna, & the Greek god of light, Mithra. This evil celebration is from many angles of origin is a deeply rooted practice of Shirk (worshipping along with the Creator [i.e. Allah], a crime which Allah will never forgive. “Verily, Allâh forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, & whoever sets up partners with Allâh in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin” [4:48] How can a Muslim possibly approve or participate in such a practice that bases itself on the notion that Allah has an offspring? Allah (swt) said, "Such was Jesus, the son of Mary; it is a statement of truth, about which they vainly dispute. It is not befitting to the majesty of God, that He should beget a son. What are some ways a teen can make money? What are some legal ways to make money other than internet, babysitting, dogwalking, snowshove, and selling Christmas cards? Business Ideas would be nice (Other than crafts and food). Also right now I don't have the time to apply to work at stores, etc.
How do I properly present a Christmas gift to a cashier? There's a really nice cashier that I've been giving Christmas cards to for years. I know that is random, but when you're having a bad day - sometimes you need a nice cashier or nice face to boost your mood. The Christmas Card is just a small gesture to show my appreciation of the person that she is. I now work for a company that does regular business at the place that this cashier works. So, It's hard for me to give her a Christmas gift without it appearing to be from my job. How do I keep my tradition going without mixing business with personal life
How can I make my writing into a business/profitable hobby when I am only 16? Hey, I am almost 16 and I have a knack for poetry, rhyming, as well as just writing in general. I am even into song/parody writing a little and have been writing personalized poems for christmas cards, businesses, etc. for family and friends for years. I was wondering how I could capitalize on these skills and make some money (I am in need of money right now). I have tried writing contests, but they don't seem to pay off. Does anyone know how/where I could start up some sort of business online for selling my writing? Should I set up a Paypal account? Also, if anyone here wants a personalized poem for a christmas card, anniversary, etc. let me know. You can contact me at perry_nunes@yahoo.com to talk, look at examples of my previous work and more. Let me know guys, thanks.

Should I include my business cards in the envelopes with the Restaurant Gift Cards? I am a small business owner who distributes products and my best customer which represents about 50% of my total business asked me for some sort of contribution for their Christmas Party. I plan on getting about 4 gift cards each worth $50 from a decent restaurant. They will randomly give these out to employees at their companies Christmas Party. I plan on giving each of the 4 gift cards in a 4 plain white envelopes. Should I include my business card in each envelope as well along with the gift card? Should I also give a seperate gift to some of the managers who treat me good and continue to trust me and buy lots of products from me? They are really good people. Any help would be appreciated.

Where can I buy/order a good quality business card holder? This Christmas I'm thinking about getting a card holder for my boyfriend as he's just started his own business. Not the kind you put on your desk, I'm looking for the kind you carry. For a physically small gift I want something high quality and I'd like to get it engraved/embossed. I don't really know where to look for this sort of thing and would appreciate any suggestions.
Is it proper to reciprocate if a Christmas card is received? I sent 12 cards this year and only received 8. Other than a business, which probably doesn't expect you to reciprocate to a card they send you, it seems to me that if you receive a card you should also send one to that person that sent it.
How To Replace White Background With A Picture? I'm working on making business cards for Christmas present. I have a JPEG file with all of the contact info and name of the buisness. I want to replace the plain white the font is on with a picture of a sunset. How do I go about doing this? I've been trying stuff in GIMP and just can't get it. Thanks alot.
gift cards for christmas..bad idea!? someone was telling me that buying gift cards for christmas this year is a bad idea. i guess because a lot of the stores are going out of business but not telling the general public which ones they are. supposedly there plan is to make as much money before christmas as they can and tell people to buy gift cards and what not, then there going to turn around and go out of business so all the gift cards will be useless. has anyone else heard about this? i dont want to go out and buy gift cards and then find out it was a waste of money.
What is a good company name for Photography/Graphic Design/Event Planning Company? I am starting a small company that will include: *Photography (Mostly outside in natural light - portraits, engagement, maternity, family, children) *Graphic Design (flyers, invitations, favors, Christmas Cards, business cards, ...) * Event Planning (Showers - baby and bridal, birthday, engagement parties) I am very involved in my church and love Jesus with all my heart. I have been thinking about a company name since July this year. I came up with J29:Eleven Designs. (Favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11) This reminds people of 9/11. I don't want a company name that reminds people of a ver sad day in American History. I have an excel spreadsheet that is filled with ideas. Can you help? I really didn't want to have the name too long but because it encompass so much stuff I should include Photography and Graphic Design. You think? I love these: Pixel Shutter Blissful Brilliance Milestone "Picture is worth a 1000 words" Cali for California Curly
what do you think about this business idea? My fiance came up with an idea a few months ago. He used to work in the oil field and thank god for me being home to take care of the bills, they got paid on time. There are several men and women who work away from home for weeks at a time and have a hard time getting their bills paid on time or there are just some people out there who don't even like messing with the whole idea. So my fiance came up with the idea that I can pay people's bills for them while they're away working or for clients who don't like to mess with it. It would be great for the person who hates to balance their check books. They only have one withdrawl to me to worry about. This is how it would work. A client comes to me with their bills that need to be paid by a certain time. They leave me with all the money plus my fee in the form of a money order, personal check, or cashiers check. I pay their bills out of my business account, use my envelopes, stamps, gas to the post office, etc. I take care of it all for them once they turn it over to me. I give them copies of the checks wrote and keep maticulous records, and give them a gurantee that if it's not paid on time due to my error, then i pay their late fee. I have a few hang ups and am kind of reluctant to get this started. My fiance hasn't really done much but throw the idea out there, but i would still like to see where it could take me because the opportunity where i live could really be good for me. I already have an EIN number, bank account, PO box and some business cards. I've had to put things on hold for right now and not start it because we're in the process of selling our house and I don't want to get it started and then lose stuff in the process, so right now i've just been chilling out trying to figure out a few things. So here is where you come in to help me.....with out the rude comments and "DUH" remarks! First... do you think $5.00 per account paid is too much. That $5 includes the stamps, envelopes, my time, my gurantee, my gas to the PO, etc. Second.... i live in a town of 600+/-, and think most of my clients will come from out of town, the nearest one is 20 miles away. How should i get my clients bills to me in a timely manner with out making it hard on them, and making sure the bills are not late?? Third....I cannot afford to be bonded right away, but will once the business gets rolling.... do you think that will affect my business? So there are a few of my concerns. Has any body ever heard of something like this before. It's kind of like being a personal assistant i guess, but i will only do a few things. I was even thinking about taking care of clients christmas cards and birthday cards etc. Like i've said before, i live in a small town and have a 1 year old. my fiance is a police officer here and we're well known, but i need to make some money too. I would like for us to live as comfortable as possible and have money incase something were to happen to either one of us. Please leave positive feed back, i look forward to getting some other opinions.... my mom doens't think it'll work. (she's pretty pesimistic about everything though) thanks in advance.
I'm doing a school project, have to make up a business....Help choosing a slogan?? Okay my business is a Christmas card company and what makes us special is that we design the card however you want it, we have an artist and everything, and we personalize the cards with the person's name inside, and write whatever you want inside....I need to know which slogan sounds better?? -"We personalize your holiday" -"We customize your holiday" -"We make your holiday personal." Or if anyone has any other suggestions? Thanks a lot!
Should I send cards even though I'm Christian? I'd like to send seasonal cards on behalf of my husband's small business. He has quite a few Jewish clients and associates that he does business with. In my background and tradition it is polite to issue a Christmas card, or a holiday card which says Season's Greetings. Should I send Chanukah cards to the Jewish clients? Would that be appreciated? Or should I just send "holiday" cards and leave it at that? Or should I send nothing at all?
What should my christmas cards say to the sponsors of my blood drive? I hosted a blood drive and had a variety of businesses donated food and gifts to my college blood drive. I want to send christmas cards to each of them. What should the christmas cards say? Junior's cheescake,Papa John's, Buffalo wild wings, Foot locker, Subway, Pipitones pizza all donated.
Should I use my Circuit City gift cards before they go out of buisness? Hi, I've been hearing in the news lately that Circuit City are not doing so good, and recently put the company for sale, and possibly file for bankruptcy. Unfortunately, I have several Circuit City gift cards (mostly from Christmas or birthdays). I've heard that if a store you have a gift card for goes out of business, you can't get your money back, and pretty much loose that money. Would it be a good idea to go to CC soon and buy something (I know what I want by the way)
Is there any way to get our money back from a gift card for a business that changed management? My husband and I just got a $30 gift card to a local eatery for Christmas. We went to get takeout tonight and called and the person that answered the phone said that the restaurant management changed hands and they are not taking the gift cards. Every other business that has changed hands has always accepted the old business's gift card up to a certain time. Do we just have to suck up the loss of $30 or is there something we can do?
Any Ideas for a small business this upcoming Holiday Season? Hello everyone. Christmas is fast approaching and its the best time to start making profit and start a small business. Do you have any ideas that I can easily do as business for the holidays? I am currently employed in an IT company so I only have time to do this during the weekends. Normal business ideas for the holidays are food like fruitcakes, brownies, candies, making personalized christmas cards, christmas decors, etc. Maybe you have other suggestions?
Does anyone else have a schmaltzy Christmas Card they like to look at throughout the year? I received a Christmas card from a business acquaintance which carries no emotional ties to the sender. However, this stupid card has a very basic picture of a two story house with lit windows, a lamp by a bridge over a stream, snow on the ground, etc. Clearly drawn to evoke thoughts of security inside the home. There is so much glitter! I love the colored glitter. Anyhow, I like to look at this card sometimes. It is NOT great art. Anyone else guilty? I am somewhat embarrassed by this attraction to the card.
Company Christmas card message? I am looking for a nice phrase to write as a personal greeting to our clients. We are a very small company (only 2 of us) who are rather close to the clients that would be receiving these cards. The pre-written message says: "With warm thanks for your business and sincere wishes for a happy holiday season" I just want something to finish it off and make it a little more personal. Any suggestions?
Where has the Christmas magic gone? I was wondering what this Christmas season has been like for you? I do not have kids so it is much different. I was so angry last year when a woman in my building pretty much told me I couldn't enjoy Christmas because I didn't have kids. I was like A) Not your business and B) I can enjoy itt just as well. Christmas has really changed for me. I do not know where the magic has gone. I was more excited about it when I worked retail then I do working in an office. I think I see how other people behave and it depresses me. For instance, I'm actually afraid to go shopping on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). People in my area have been physically injured! Last year a woman stepped infront of another as the store opened its doors, the owman she stepped infront of poured hot coffee down her back! She ended up with 2nd and 3rd degree burns! People, this is not the Christmasy way! I remember the special times like decorating the tree and baking cookies, sending out cards and of course shopping and receiving gifts. I remember them more that whan I actually got. Christmas dinner my family would laugh the meal away. Church was an extended family. The beliefs I can take or leave but there were really good people that went to my step fathers church. I'm trying so hard to get that feeling back. I give more to charities than people. I have downscaled everything I buy and give. my office is giving to a needy family instead of to each other (I have bought gifts for certain people and I always attach a small ornament to my Christmas cards). People really need to step back and think about what it means to them. It is not about the $300 toys. I prefer handmade gifts and smalled meaningful gifts than an xbox. Let me know what you think!

Last postal dates to USA for Christmas? Hi! Can anyone tell me what's the latest date you can post a Christmas card to the USA for it to reach in time for Christmas. The love of my life will be spending it there on business and won't be home til the 27th. I want to sent her a card to cheer her (and me !) up. Can i sent it recorded delivery to ensure safe delivery? Someone at work told me it's not always guaranteed. She's in Atlanta Georgia by the way, if you have to take time zones or whatever into account. Thanks.
Business Christmas E-mails ok? I work for a mid-sized Engineering and Surveying firm. We mail out company Christmas cards. Is there anything wrong with sending personalized Christmas e-mails to my own specific clients? is it tacky? I have gotten a few responses already -- all positive unless you count the auto responses "already on vacation" . What do you think?
How to design custom Christmas cards? Christmas is a special time. And nothing says you're special more than a personalized Christmas greeting card. More and more people are joining businesses in sending unique cards to people they want to be remembered to.
Thanks
Why is my father-in-law this way? My husband's Dad lives 2 states away from us but is always making promises to come out here. Then at the last minute we get a postcard (not a phone call!) from him saying he has decided to go to a work convention or has found some dude ranch or etc. in another state that he wants to check out instead of coming to visit us. He sends Birthday and Christmas cards, but always includes his business card with the website circled, and/or sends us a company catalog as a Christmas present to all of us. The recent business card said he was President of the company, but I checked out the website and he wasn't! He has never met our kids in person, or talked to them on the phone. Our other relatives who live closer to him say that even though he has been to their homes, they don't look forward to his visits because he is either trying to sell them something or on the phone with somebody else;and leaves his business cards at the dinner table around each place setting. What can I do if anything? We went out to see him once and it was very brief because he was on the phone most of the time and then had to leave to draw up some more business. My husband's parents divorced several years ago and this was one of the reasons, him caring more about work and then taking it out on his family. His mom remarried.
How would you handle meeting someone claiming to be the real Santa Claus? This really happened to us about twenty two years ago. My wife and I were going through a bad spell with our finances. We were sitting in a food court at a local mall when a white bearded gentleman sat next to us. Out of the blue he told us to not lose hope and that Christmas would sort itself out. He was so pleasant that we both felt great. He left us a business card as he left to join his wife who was standing nearby. His name was Kris Kringle. Our finances did come together and we had a lovely time that year. This really did happen...
Anyone can help me come up with a funny line or sentence? I want to come up with something funny and original to write in a Christmas card for my brother. He's 22, already has a good pay and is about to graduate next year. So far I've come up with... I hope 2008 brings you even more success and a great, big paycheck. I know, it's not very funny. :P Can anyone help me out? Perhaps like a business quote or a humorous line from Jerry Seinfeld (he's a fan).
A good name for a small business? My friend and I are going to start a small business. We are going to be selling handmade christmas crafts (Stockings, Ornaments), handmade jewelry (Earrings and lanyards) and some things we have made on a sewing machine (scarfs, nursing uniforms, pj pants) and other odd and ends. We have no idea what to call our business and we need to get some signs and cards made
Business thank you letters? We received a few christmas cards in the mail and my boss wants me to write some thank you letters. What do i say? some sent us candy others just the card. I'm not good at writing things. I could just say, Thank for that card! and be done! Any suggestions on what to say?
So, who else has not finished all their Christmas shopping yet?? Last year I was frantically wrapping Christmas presents on Christmas day before meeting up with family for a BBQ lunch - LOL! I told myself last year that I would not do the same thing this year, that I would be prepared. I can see myself doing the same thing this year! It is hard. I run my own business and this time of year is very busy. I work longer hours than normal and although I buy the presents early I tend to put off wrapping them until the last minute. I was lucky to get all my Christmas cards out last week! LOL. I still have not put up our Christmas tree either... *grins* I can't be the only person that does this, can I? Now I know I am not alone! Thank you to all who have replied. I hope you manage to get things done for the day... I hope I manage to also! :) I wish you all a safe and merry Christmas and all the best in the new year.
Still EX-changing holiday cards??? I have been with my boyfiend for almost 2 /12 years and we are also moving towards getting engaged. Early on in our relationship, we had some turbulance because two of his ex-girlfriends began to actively pursue him when they found out that he was getting serious with me. They would call him, send him cards for very occassion, etc. It really caused tension between he & I, because I knew that they had motives and I felt that he was perpetuating their interest by always responding to their calls, exchanging cards w/them still, etc. I am not a controlling person, but I did ask him to please cut them both off, because of their unresolved feelings for him. They obviously were still trying to stay in his life for the wrong reasons. Well, it's the holidays and by no means was I snooping, but I saw his Christmas Cards about to go out (he owns a small business) for clients & some personal contacts, and sure enough one of his exes was on there. Should I be upset? I feel it...... One answerer is right, I do need to remain secure, and trust, but because I already stated that this bothered me (him accepting calls/mail from his exes) I am still bothered. Recently, he said that he is not communicating with either one anymore. He knows it was a hot button. Why the company christmas card then? No sig, no notes, but the thought. These girls were stating their regrets and deep feelings; they weren't just being friendly. I know that he loves me very much and wants to marry me- he said if he wanted to back to either one, he easily could have by now. As I stated, I don't want to be insecure and mistrusting- but I don't want someone who's heart is still in the past...... I love him and really want to marry him. What do I do? How can I approach this without looking psycho?
Would you purchase this kind of program? my family has just purchased ownership to a program that allows you to create any kind of birthday, anniversary, valentines, or any kind of greeting card possible on your computer. The difference is, that once you create it, you can then send it to whoever you want on your computer, but it's not an e-greeting. It will deliver a genuine card straight to your recipients home mailbox or business. Anyway, i was thinking that i'd ask some people if they had the opportunity, would you be interested in something like this? much easier than going out to a store, and buying one yourself...and those who have their own businesses and need to send out yearly christmas cards, i think it's ideal! also, it's much more personal than sending a simple "e-greeting card" through e-mail. soo, whaddya think?
