personalized christmas cards? Is there a company in the UK that will take your own pictures and turn them into Christmas cards? My son does is very talented and I would prefer to use his pictures than ones in the shops. Thanks for your answers so far but I dont mean using photos, my son (6yrs) has arty talents way beyond his years (his teacher told me this) and I want to use one of his drawings on a Christmas card. Way more personal than sending shop bought ones.

How can I personalize Christmas cards? I want to buy a lot of Christmas cards and then personalize them with "Merry Christmas from Belfast" or what ever the town is and resell them to retailers in that town. I think the process is called embossing.Something cheap and cheerful would be useful.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this.
A question about personalized Christmas Cards? Last year I sent out Christmas cards and included a picture of my immediate family, my husband, my son, and me. I sent out cards to everyone in my address book including extended family. When the Christmas card from my in-laws arrived I was kind of thrown. It was one of those print off cards from Walgreen's with a couple pictures, one of the pictures was the same picture that I had sent out. I had no idea that she (my mother-in-law) was going to include us in her Christmas card. I didn't say anything to her or my husband, I let it go. But now that that time of year is coming around, I am curious; what is the proper etiquette for this situation? Should she have asked to include us in her card? And, just throwing this out there, is it unreasonable of me to say no? Or, because it is her son, should I just be ok with her including him plus us in her annual send-outs? My husband is in the airforce and we live 2500 miles away from them. They visit every Thanksgiving and at the end of the trip we swap SD cards from our cameras so we both have all the pictures from the trip. This particular picture happened to be a nice one of us. shimmering....I think that is what I had the problem with; the card was from "The 'Smith' Family" which made it seem like I wasn't sending out my own cards. I think you nailed it, that is where I was thrown.
Is shutter fly a good deal for christmas cards? I want to do personalized holiday cards this year for my sons first christmas so I am wondering if shutter fly is a good deal? For 25 cards with his picture and cute saying it totaled nearly 24.00 including shipping and handling. Is this a good deal?
Which picture should be on my christmas cards this year? (pics)? I'm starting early, which of these pix should be on my personalized christmas cards? http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/glitter_020/l_7f67728dddcacdb50e9f4996a30f8f16.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o20/glitter_020/l_bfc450b39a756bf03f0ff3009aa5bd6f.jpg
Screwed up the Christmas Cards I was given to fill? I screwed up the Christmas Cards I was given to fill them. They were really expensive cards but there was no pen able to write on it. So I used one which is able to write without messing up. But it didn't give the best result. They look terrible to me. And the person who asked me to do that already brought me cookies in order to thank. I'd have bought the same one if that store was open on my way to work, but it's not. How can I express him that I'm really sorry and I didn't mean them to turn out that way? I'm actually a painter and designer so I should have had a better handwriting but the rough pen screwed it. I'm thinking about to offer him to design personalized Christmas cards for each person he'd like to send them... Would that work? What do you think?
Christmas Cards? I wanna make my best freind a really personalized christmas card.So maybe quotes and pics if anyone has any design or ideas let me know
Who do Prince Charles and Camilla send their annual Christmas cards to? Could a nobody like me receive one? On an American tv show on Monday, The View, Barbara Walters showed a 2010 Christmas card that she received from Prince Charles and Camilla, and she said that they have been sending her a Christmas card for quite a few years. Do you have to be a somebody to receive a Christmas card from them? If I sent them my name and address, would they send me a personalized Christmas card? (If you haven't seen the card, their crests are on the cover of the card, and on the inside there's a picture of Charles and Camilla on skis...it was taken in Scotland Jan. 2010.)
Where to get photos to use on cards to sell? Even the stock photo sites where you pay won't allow use of images on t-shirts, or any item which will be offered for sale. I just need 2 or 3 images for the front of personalised christmas cards to sell in our little photoshop, I've done the graphical ones myself, but don't have any good enough photos of my own. We can't afford to pay much in case we don't sell any!
How to add a personalized touch to store-bought Christmas cards? Hey Everyone! I was just wondering if anyone that was really into crafts could help me. I'm not much of a crafting person myself; but I bought my boyfriend the sweetest Hallmark card for Christmas, it unfolds and there are three blank areas kind of like a brochure. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or neat ideas that I could use to spruce up this card and add my own little flare. I appreciate all of the answers and help, Thank You. Please have a safe and Merry Christmas, as well as a happy and safe New Years. ☺ The card is a pale green, with a holy bush in the background and has a red bow string going down the side, and has a very small amount of glitter. :)
Christmas cards? i know i'm lagging? Should i add the 2010 on my personalized cards its going to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year With Love, My nane and my husbands Should i add the 2010 i mean it look really good it ties everything up but the new year isn't going to be 2010? Thanks in advance!
Can you please suggest a nice short and sweet personalized Christmas greeting to include in my card? It's for a guy that I really like, so I was hoping there was a way I can drop a hint but not make a fool of myself. We lost touch with each other for about 3 months, so I am hoping to say something that will serve as an ice breaker and that will get him to want to contact me, without having to say that. I'm going to sign my name and include my phone #. Is this appropriate or too forward? Many thanks in advance!!!
How would I write or say "To my beloved boyfriend at Christmas time" in German? My boyfriend is from Dusseldorf and I am designing him a personalised Christmas card. My German is not very good and I am still learning so I would like this to be as correct as possible. How would I write on a card "To my beloved boyfriend at Christmas time" or "To the one I love at Christmas time"? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :) Ruby. B
Does anyone think writing Christmas cards is a chore? I keep procrastinating, but the reason I want to send them is one, I feel guilty if I don't, and two, I really enjoy receiving them from others. What do you think about Christmas card writing? Do you personalize each one with a message or just sign your name?
How to order personalized greeting card with these specifics? My boss wants me to order Christmas cards which include our photo on the front, our text on the inside, and a second, smaller photo on the inside corner in kind of a black & white lighter, faint sort of appearance. I’m not sure what that would be called or what companies offer such an option. Looking for suggestions of where to start and how to go about it. (If you answer has anything to do with “Google” would you please offers suggested search terms – I can’t think of what words to describe the inside photo in particular. Thank you very much.
Where to print my Christmas Card? I am making a personalized Christmas card this year & do not want a pre-designed one where you drag and drop your photos. I found one website where I can put my personal design into the card but the cards are $1.49 per 8x4 card. The website is cardstore.com. Is there any other websites that allow me to upload my own design without a premade template for a little cheaper? This is my card http://i413.photobucket.com/albums/pp211/ultimatefarmergirl/2008touploadchristmascard.jpg Thanks! Merry Christmas!
Christmas card personalizing? What should I write in my christmas cards to my clients at my salon? I want it to be short but tell them thank you for there loyalty. how do I say that without saying exactly that?
I want to make a special Christmas card for someone? Is there a site online where I can design ONE personalized card for someone, where I can upload a picture and print a personalized message on it. I don't want an e-card to send to him, I want a real card made that I pay for, that would be sent to me so I can actually sign the card I had made before giving it with my gift. Where can I do this?
Something nice (but generic) to write in a Christmas card? I am printing out some notecards to attach to the smoked chickens we made to give out as gifts to a few people from our town. What is something good to write on the card (not personalized-one card fits all)? It doesn't have to be long. I was thinking of something like, "In a life full of blessings, you are a shining star...Merry Christmas!" What's a better way?
Any Ideas for a small business this upcoming Holiday Season? Hello everyone. Christmas is fast approaching and its the best time to start making profit and start a small business. Do you have any ideas that I can easily do as business for the holidays? I am currently employed in an IT company so I only have time to do this during the weekends. Normal business ideas for the holidays are food like fruitcakes, brownies, candies, making personalized christmas cards, christmas decors, etc. Maybe you have other suggestions?
How do you feel about the form letter with Christmas cards? I normally don't send cards out to people during the holidays, but this year I decided to do so. I also wrote a form letter to go with the greeting card. The card itself will be personalized with my Holiday wishes but there is also the letter that I typed up to go with it, with this year's new and happenings. I've gotten them in the past and I don't mind them, but some people think of them as insensitive and unsociable. What do you think and why? I'm just curious about your opinions and there isn't a right or wrong answer. Thanks Suki! That's a good idea. I didn't think of that. I will do that.

What should I make my friends and family for Christmas? I have absolutely NO money. I was thinking of making my friends personalized cards, but that's too ordinary. I've really no idea what to make them. One of my friends loves turtles, so I've been trying to incorporate that into something. I'm a little artistic, but i still dont know. I really need ideas soon. I'm not stealing you ass!

Anyone know of a good website to send ecards in bulk? I am doing my company Christmas cards this year and want to send them as an ecard, but I cannot find a website that offers the facility to send personalised cards in bulk. I need to be able to add our logo too. Any suggestions or experiences welcome. Thanks :-)

But I have no idea what to write. Me and her get along fine, and she is a nice person. Is this considered cute?? OK...you know how people are putting pics of their cats and dogs, etc on their personalized Christmas Cards? Well---my I have this adorable picture of Harry, my pet tarantula, with a little elf hat on....Would that be tacky for my cards for next year??
looking for a unique/cute name for online store? looking to open my own store online to sell personalized cards (Birth Announcements, Christmas cards, Birthday invites, baptism, ect.) some things you may include in the name can be: my name/nickname (Tami, Tamster, Tamiboo) my sons name/nickname ( Dominic, Nic, NicNac) any ideas?

I am making my boyfriend a personalized playing card deck? Hi, for Christmas I am making my boyfriend (who loves poker) a personalized card deck with pictures of us on each of the cards. I have almost finished the deck, but I am having trouble finding out what to put on the jack and joker cards. He is the king and I am the queen, and all of the face cards of pictures of me and him, but what should I do for the jack? For the joker I think I'll just dress up in a little cute joker costume, but for the jack, do you guys have any ideas Plus- do you think he will like it? :)
Do you send out holiday cards? More and more people no longer send out Christmas cards, which is sad. I always took the weeks between Thanksgiving and early December to write out cards with personal notes in them. As I think back, I also used to send cards to certain people for Thanksgiving, Easter, and birthdays. For some reason, I seem to have stopped doing that over the years. I still do the Christmas card thing, though. Do you send cards and for what reason? Do you just sign your name or do you take the time to actually write personalized notes?
Why is some of my mail not getting to me from USPS? I ordered Lion King Musical tickets in early November and never received the tickets. I called ticketmaster and they said that they were mailed out a month ago. So they cancelled those tickets out and I have to pick p my tickets at the window when I get there. About 2 weeks ago I ordered personalized photo Christmas cards from Kodak and never received those either. I don't know if they'll refund those. If mail that I'm expecting isn't getting to me it makes me wonder about important mail that I don't know about that might not be getting to me. I live in a townhouse so there is a lock on the mailbox that only the postman has so I know my neighbors aren't stealing it. What is happening to my mail?
Creating Holiday Cards: Tips? Design, Photography, Cost? Hi, I just finished a graphic design program. I also own a petcare business. I would like to start a side business offering my petcare clients design work. Specifically, I would like to offer to design clients' holidays cards for friends and family. What is the best way to go about this? I am a decent photographer. I also am a decent designer. So, should I buy blank car stock and design and print out 3-4 templates of designs, each with an attached photograph taped in the middle? If I use a printing shop, they will charge me an arm and a leg to print only 4 samples. But I can't print a full bleed with printer at home, not to mention the quality wouldn't be great. Or do I just find cute pre-designed Christmas cards with a photo spot and only worry about taking the photograph? But I would assume that most clients would want a personalized message inside. And how much money could I really make if I didn't design it? But the outside printing would already be done, so that would save some money, maybe? So , what do you suggest? Has anyone done this on a small scale? I have 15 clients and I would guess that 7-8 of them will take me up on the holiday card design. I am assuming that each client will order 50-60 cards, at least. What do I charge? What is the most cost efficient way to do this?
what can you get a bunch of your friends for christmas? It's christmas and I have a lot of friends from school. last year I could only give out a few presents to some of them. this year I want to do something different and be able to give a lot of people. last year I bought plastic goblets, stuffed them with candies and bowed them up. my close friends received teddy bears and my band friends got personalized cards. I need something more creative. got any bright cheap ideas for me? I can spend around $20-$30 on them it has to be unisex so I can give it to both my girl AND guy friends
What should I get for an 18 year old boy for Christmas? hey... so i need to get my family friend something - he's 18. So, in the past we have gotten him everything from itunes cards, cologne, DVDs, etc. I don't know what to get him know! I was thinking about an american express gift card, but I was thinking of something a little more personalized. Can you help?
How can I fill in my face on a card? Can someone please give me a website where I can fill in a Christmas card with my face. I have received them before. They are cards when for example, singing elves come on the screen, but instead of an elf face it is the senders face. Please send me a link so I can personalize my own! Thanks, N!
Should I get my professor something for christmas and as a thank you present? okay - i searched and, well, i figured i would pretty much figured that i would get him a gift card to B&N or personalized pen from Things Remembered. but anyway, i am wondering if i even should get him something when im gonna write him a letter thanking him for everything he had done for me. its gonna be both a thank you gift and a christmas gift. is it perfectly alright to give him both a gift card and a letter? or any other ideas you could suggest? thanks in advance! XD he taught me last semester and this semester, i dont have a class with him but he is helping me with my letters of recommendation also - in terms of amount in gift cards - how much is too much? im graduating this semester so i cant take another class taught by him. although - yea, about ethics... can he refuse the gift card? :/ thanks for all your insights! XD
How can I make my writing into a business/profitable hobby when I am only 16? Hey, I am almost 16 and I have a knack for poetry, rhyming, as well as just writing in general. I am even into song/parody writing a little and have been writing personalized poems for christmas cards, businesses, etc. for family and friends for years. I was wondering how I could capitalize on these skills and make some money (I am in need of money right now). I have tried writing contests, but they don't seem to pay off. Does anyone know how/where I could start up some sort of business online for selling my writing? Should I set up a Paypal account? Also, if anyone here wants a personalized poem for a christmas card, anniversary, etc. let me know. You can contact me at perry_nunes@yahoo.com to talk, look at examples of my previous work and more. Let me know guys, thanks.
I'm doing a school project, have to make up a business....Help choosing a slogan?? Okay my business is a Christmas card company and what makes us special is that we design the card however you want it, we have an artist and everything, and we personalize the cards with the person's name inside, and write whatever you want inside....I need to know which slogan sounds better?? -"We personalize your holiday" -"We customize your holiday" -"We make your holiday personal." Or if anyone has any other suggestions? Thanks a lot!
Why does a leftist organization like Starbucks hate the phrase "laissez faire"? But have no problem with leftist catch phrases when you personalize their Starbucks card? More leftist hypocrisy, perhaps? **************************** Starbucks and 'Laissez Faire' By DAVID BOAZ April 7, 2008; Page A12 Laissez-faire. It's a policy that made Starbucks vastly successful. But don't try to put that phrase on a customized Starbucks Card. The cards are supposed be personalized to reflect customers' tastes and uniqueness. They are available in a range of colors, often given as gifts and used by regular customers who prefer to prepay for their java. But when my friend Roger Ream, president of the Fund for American Studies, received a Starbucks gift card for Christmas, he found there was a limit to how personalized a card could be. His card required him to customize it on the company's Web site. So he went to the site and requested that the phrase "Laissez Faire" be printed on his card. A few days later he was informed that the company couldn't issue such a card because the wording violated company policy. Starbucks's company policy is this: "We review each Card before printing it to make sure it meets our personalization policy. We accept most personalization requests, but we can't honor every one. Some requests may contain trademarks that we don't have the right to use. Others may contain material that we consider inappropriate (such as threatening remarks, derogatory terms, or overtly political commentary) or wouldn't want to see on Starbucks-branded products." Is the phrase "laissez-faire" threatening? Only to officious bureaucracy, I would think. So, it must be that the phrase is considered to be "inappropriate" by corporate Starbucks. But why should it be considered inappropriate? The phrase itself is an imperative. It's French for "leave us alone," more or less. And it comes to us through history as advice offered to Jean Baptiste Colbert, finance minister under the French King Louis XIV in the 17th century. Colbert is best known for his statement: "The art of taxation consists in so plucking the goose as to obtain the largest possible amount of feathers with the smallest possible amount of hissing." When Colbert asked a group of merchants, "What do you want from us?," the answer was, "laisser nous faire." "Laissez-faire" is, then, an old piece of economic advice with an impeccable French heritage. Maybe Starbucks considers the phrase inappropriate because it's "overtly political commentary"? Certainly my friend regards it as a firm statement of political philosophy. And so, at my suggestion, my friend went back to the Web site and asked that his card be issued with the phrase "People Not Profits." Bingo! Starbucks had no problem with that phrase, and the card arrived in a few days. I wondered just what the company's standards were. If "laissez-faire" is unacceptably political, how could the socialist slogan "people not profits" be acceptable? My assistant and I tried to get the company to explain its policy. We started by trying to purchase a card with the phrase "Laissez Faire," and were rejected as my friend had been. We then asked a company spokesperson why. He suggested that it might be because "laissez-faire" is a foreign phrase. That seemed possible and a reasonable precaution. So we tried another foreign phrase – "Si Se Puede," or "Yes we can." It's the United Farm Workers slogan, now adopted by Barack Obama's presidential campaign. That sailed right through. The senator's political campaign slogan was acceptable. We called again. Several spokespeople at Starbucks and at Arroweye, the company that actually creates personalized cards for Starbucks and other retailers, said that they couldn't be sure, but that the phrase was probably rejected because it is political. They explained that they would not allow a customer to print "McCain for President" or "Support the Democratic Party" on a Starbucks card. And they noted that they had rejected a request for "My coffee is a weapon." But fewer than 1% of card requests are rejected. They had no explanation as to how "People Not Profits" and "Si Se Puede" could be regarded as less political than "Laissez Faire." I'm still hoping that it was all a computer glitch, and that some day my latte-drinking, non-tax-hiking friends will be able to get their very own customized Starbucks gift card with "Laissez Faire" emblazoned on it – even if it does risk a sneer from the barista. Starbucks has prospered mightily in a free economy. For the most recent fiscal year, the company earned $672.6 million on revenue of $9.4 billion, a very healthy profit. And these days, in the wake of a California Superior Court judge's order that the company repay $100 million in back tips that were shared by shift supervisors, Starbucks honchos just might like a little less government intervention in their affairs and a little more laissez-faire. Mr. Boaz is executive vice president of the Cato Institute and the author of "The Politics of Freedom" (Cato Institute, 2008).
Christmas Gifts for teenage friends? Me and my friends are sophmores in Highschool. They are all girls. I need to get presents for 4 people. I don't want to just buy a cd or something, I want it to be sincere and as little cost as possible becuase I don't have alot of money. Here is what I am thinking of: Makeing Christmas goodies such as fudge, cookies, chocolate dipped pretzas, ect. And wrapping them in a shirt box with a card. The card will have a very personalized letter to each person in it. Then, since most of my friends are animal lovers and have alot of pets, I thought about making something like this: http://hsus.petfulfillment.com/productdetail.php?productid=1316 http://hsus.petfulfillment.com/productdetail.php?productid=1315 And writing From Shera, Christmas 2007 on the back. Would this be appreciated? Would you like if your friend took the time to do this? How would I package the ornaments?
christmas gifts.. stocking? my boyfriend is 20 years old, turning 21 in 4 months.. we've been together for 10 months now.. he's into cooking, a little bit in electronics and gadgets, totally not in the fashion dept, and nothing about cars and sports.. i don't want to buy him anything too expensive, and too cheap.. well, i was planning on giving him the ipod classic before he told me he already bought a zune.. so now, i think i'm just gonna give him a christmas stocking.. i need help with what i can put inside.. i'm thinking of putting a new wallet (since the one he has now is almost garbage), some chocolate or candies (since he has a sweet tooth), and maybe some of those "love cards" i found online (http://www.links2love.com/cards/love_credit_cards.htm).. what else can i put inside? **i'm trying to stay away from anything personalized coz i want to give him something really special for our anniversary..** oh.. and he's really into fishing too.. i mean i understand, it's addicting..lolz but if that helps, then.. and please, nothing sexual..
What should I get my best friend/cousin for Christmas? She's 13, but she's more mature than her age. She loves blingage, (: haha like gold charm necklaces, and like the hip hop typa style. What else .. well yeah she doesn't really have any sport hobbies, but I know for me, shes getting sooomething nice, I already know, but since I'm already late to get anything personalized, I wanna give her a really good great gift for Christmas (: She's my 2nd cousin or something like that, but basically like my best friend. She has alot of things, but I really don't wanna get her gift cards, or anything "homemade" since I know it's something from the heart, but because I'd feel like it's a bad-ish present.
Christmas gift for my mother? Okay, so I have one gift, but I'm just about out of ideas. I've already done the clothes, shoes, candy, flowers, cards, cook ware, Bath and Body works, gift baskets, jewelry, and a couple of years ago, I got her a personalized Bible. So I got her a nice watch this year, but I need something else. My mother has always been big on Christmas, and even if I got her a soda pop, she'd think the world of it. lol She's not big on expensive gifts. She prefers down to Earth gifts that are from the heart. So I need something that is Super, yet is not too flashy and sends the basic message of Merry Christmas. Thank you.
Christmas ideas for 19 year old boyfriend of 2 years? I don't want to give gift cards or crazy romantic sex. Please help! Price range up to $300. Hates massages No video games/magazines Hates to read Doesn't watch many movies (and I already have a Blockbuster online subscription, so no movies) Loves to surf and snowboard, but has already bought everything he could possibly need/want to do both Doesn't need anything music related Doesn't have a fave sports team Doesn't want any type of jewelry Doesn't know what he wants for Christmas Already: Has iPod/GPS/sound system in his car Has a nice watch/cologne Saw his favorite band in concert and he's not that into sporting events Get him a new shirt or jacket every holiday Went to Build a Bear The only big thing that I can think of him needing is a new cell phone, so I'm considering that, but it's something his parents will probably get him anyways, and it's not very personal. I also might do the personalized soap idea, or do something with pictures, but are there any other ideas out there?
What to get my crush for christmas...? ok so theres a guy that ive been good friends with for quite some time, but now im starting to fall for him and i think he likes me too. we made a deal that i would get him a christmas gift if he got me one. so i want to get him something that is something he likes but doesnt just have a friends vibe to it, i want to add a cute and personalized touch to it that will show how i feel. he is really into sports so i was thinking of getting him like a tshirt of some kind and then getting him a mini soccer or basketball and signing it and using it as almost like a card. any thoughts on this idea?
Business Christmas E-mails ok? I work for a mid-sized Engineering and Surveying firm. We mail out company Christmas cards. Is there anything wrong with sending personalized Christmas e-mails to my own specific clients? is it tacky? I have gotten a few responses already -- all positive unless you count the auto responses "already on vacation" . What do you think?
How to design custom Christmas cards? Christmas is a special time. And nothing says you're special more than a personalized Christmas greeting card. More and more people are joining businesses in sending unique cards to people they want to be remembered to.
Helpless Romantics: What is the best Christmas gift you could...? What is the best Christmas gift you could give your loved one. My fiance loves travelling but we are both finishing up college and are poor, so that doesnt seem in the cards. We live in upstate NY. Do you know of any romantic getaways for the weekend? --OR-- Something romantic to give? I have done (what seems like) everything in the past...a box of favors for him to pick from, romantic surpise picnics and candle lit dinners, personalized cd of our songs, etc. etc. I need something DIFFERENT. 10 pts. to the best answer!
What are some thoughtful Christmas gifts I can give my friends? I don't want to spend much money. Last year I bought tins and made cookies, chocolate covered pretzals, and chocolate covered peanut buter crackers. They seemed to like that. Then the couple of years before I bought cards and wrote a personalized letter inside each on and gave them money. Should I do the goodie tins again? I would have: Chocolate Covered Pretzals No Bake Cookies Macadamia Nut or Chocolate Chip Cookies Chocolate Covered Penut Butter Crackers What else should I include and would you like this if a friend gave it to you?
what is best way to get people stop giving us liquor, candy, lottery tix?? For past 3 years at work, my husband & i keep getting Christmas gifts of hard liquor, candy, more candy && lottery Tickets. We dont drink, are diabetic, so dont eat candy, & tix are never winners. What is best way to let people at work, (who do know we dont drink , are diabetic); know we would prefer as most friends spoken to, gift cards, etc; anything other than this constant hard liquor, candy. Comes point can no longer pass it on to others either. we both go out of way to personalize our gifts as to individual tastes, etc. HELP, overrun again with booze, candy.!!!!!
Christmas Cards? Anyone have any cute ideas on making a christmas card for my best friend. Possibly with some quotes. Basically a really personalized card. Maybe adding pics.
Christmas Cards? Can anyone tell me where I can get breed specific Holiday cards or get personalized cards with my pet's photo, not overly expensive?
Gifts for Employees?? What do you want to receive this year? We already are doing the following: - Christmas Party in early December(dinner theater comedy show, guest invited) - Cash bonus - $20 Gift card for their favorite grocery store (in lieu of turkeys, we don't get a great response when we give turkeys anymore) - Hallmark ornament customized to their personal hobbies - Custom snowman wall plaque (www.familysigns.com) - Rainy Day Fund jar with a $50 gift card inside to their favorite store - Continental Breakfast on 12/22 Not sure what else to give them. We always give gift baskets full of something. One year it was a breakfast theme with about $100 worth of stuff in it and a gift card. One year we did digital cameras. We thought this year we'd do 5-6 gifts around $10-20 each for each employee and hand them out one at a time (sort of "santa" style) under the tree. We only have 8 employees so it is managable. Any ideas? We want to keep it personalized & useful for everyone - most employees are in their 40s or 50s.

part 2 you might be a redneck if…? You have more than two brothers named Bubba or Junior. Your father encourages you to quit school because Larry has an opening on the lube rack. You think a Volvo is part of a woman's anatomy. You think that the Styrofoam cooler is the greatest invention of all time. You've been too drunk to fish. You had to remove a toothpick for wedding pictures. Your lifetime goal is to own a fireworks stand. Someone asks to see your ID and you show them your belt buckle. Your Junior/Senior Prom had a Daycare. The directions to your house include "turn off the paved road". Your dog and your wallet are both on chains. You owe the taxidermist more than your annual income. You have lost at least one tooth opening a beer bottle. Jack Daniel's makes your list of "most admired people". Your house doesn't have curtains, but your truck does. You have started a petition to change the National Anthem to "Georgia on My Mind". You call your boss "Buddy", on a regular basis. You consider your license plate personalized because your dad made it in prison. You have been fired from a construction job because of your appearance. You need one more hole punched in your card to get a freebie at the House of Tattoos. You need an estimate from your barber before you get a haircut. After making love you ask your date to roll down the window. The biggest fashion risk you take is which plaid you'll wear to the 4-H Fair. You have flowers planted in a bathroom appliance in your front yard. Someone in your family says "C*m’n here an' lookit this afore I flush it." Your wife weighs more then your refrigerator. You mow your lawn and find a car. If going to the bathroom in the middle of the night involves putting on shoes a jacket and grabbing a flashlight. Your dog can't watch you eat without gagging. You have a Hefty bag on the passenger side window of your car. You have a very special baseball cap, just for formal occasions. You bought a VCR so you could tape wrestling while you are at work. Your dad walks you to school because you are both in the same grade. Your wife has a beer belly and you find it attractive. You go Christmas shopping for your mom, sister, and girlfriend, and you only need to buy one gift. You are still holding on to Confederate money because you think the South will rise again. You consider pork and beans to be a gourmet food. You have to go down to the creek to take a bath. You participate in the "who can spit tobacco the farthest contest". You roll you hair with soup cans and wash it once a year. You consider a three piece suit to be: a pair of overalls, a plaid flannel shirt and thermal underwear. There is a sheet hanging in your closet and a gun rack hanging in your truck.
How do I nicely stop a relative from nagging what I want for Christmas? And stop exchanging gifts.? Two of my brothers wives are just stay at home wives(one is a mom) and they love to shop! I am a working mom, no money to blow and no time to get all 14 people(5bros, 5wives/girlfriends, mom, dad,2 nephews) a personalized gift. I do not mean to be scroge, I love buying for the children and my parents, but I think adults in ther 20-40's do not need to be buying each other gifts. Our price range seems to be in the $20 range....so if there was something we really wanted or needed in that range we would buy it ourselves. Every year I pull my hair out trying to find the perfect gift for 12 people, some of which I barley know! And then I pay intrest on my credit card for the next six months. I love to give but I just can't afford this with a house payment, baby, bills and a car payment. They are thoughtful and love to shop. I do not want to hurt their feelings...but somethings got to give! My sister in-law will not stop asking me what me and my husband want. Theres nothing I hate more! Help! Sorry, I did not mean to insult anyone with the stay at home wife/mom thing. I would love more than anything to be a stay at home mom. I know it is not an easy job... I just meant it for this perticular one who goes shopping with her mother 5 out of 7 days a week with the kids. I on the other hand work 40 hours stuck at a job and do not have much time for shopping even with my son. My point is the personalized shopping is not an issue for her. She is a very thoughtful person, and it is not a a fault she does not work, just a little more freedom than me!
What to get my Girlfriend for her birthday? Okay, my girlfriend's 15th birthday is coming up in about a month and I wanna make it good! This is her first birthday in our relationship (we have been dating since Nov. 24th, 2006). Im not sure what to get her. People say I shouldn't blow alot of money on her but I really want to! For Christmas I bought her a $120 Heart-Shaped, Sterling Silver necklace with tiny diamonds in it. Then, for Vday I bought her a HUGE $60 Teddy bear, roses, a personalized glass heart with our names on it, and a poem I made. I even bought her a new rose later that day because she squeezed the first one so tight it broke! haha. I wanna make her birthday even better. So far im getting her a $50 Starbucks Card because she loves starbucks. I kinda want to get her a pearl necklace (because its her birthstone) but I already got her a necklace for Christmas. She likes music but she already ahs an iPod. I can't think of anything she wants that she doesnt already have. By the way, I'm 16. I have about a $300 Budget.
Okay to go ahead and give gift? I was invited to my cousin's wedding (who I am not particularly close to) and there was a little card stuck down in it saying that they're having an "envelope wedding" which is just a sugar coated way of saying cash only. I was totally offended by it, but I feel like it would cause a big deal in the family if I skipped the wedding (which was my first inclination). The problem is, is that I had already purchased my gift for them, which is one of those silver engraved Christmas ornaments that have their names and the year on it and says "Our First Christmas". Since it's personalized, it's not like I can take it back. I know it was rude of her to ask for cash, but is it even more rude for me to give her a "real" gift? I mean, it's the thought that counts, right?
